dude so i have 63,000 on my xb and the brakes just started making noise. What's the longest anyone has ever not changed their brake pads. just wondering.

So Cal stop and go freeways and streets. Always on the gas, always on the brakes-city or freeway. Rare you can go 70 for any length of time.

 

14,200miles here and still going.

i'm manual so i use the tranny to slow down to reduce some of the stress on the break pads.

 

I have 32K miles on my '05 and I still about 50% remaining on my pads!

 

Just changed mine. I have 60k on my 05

 

just did the front ones on mine at 140,000!!
yes i do alot of highway driving

i have changed mine before but cant remember what everyone suggested as to what brake pads? anyone have any idea?

 

Just had service at 35,000 miles.....said I still had 80% on my pads......

 

i bet mine is at like 5 percent left. imma get it changed this weekend. and i'll let you guys know how much i have left.

 

I feel bad only getting 17K on mine, there was still some left but I doubt I could get 30K out of them! Did not want to scrape the rotors. Also when they get thin, they get hot and warp the rotors. Next change I will replace rotors also. Yeah, I'm Japanese...I take pictures of everything!

 

If it starts to squeak then change them. Never go too long with little to no pad.

which pads did you buy? i found the oem ones from trdsparks for $35. i cant remember what pads i used last time....

 

^^OEM...recognize the "Team Toyota" mothership packaging? Seems to do a great job, no squeals, fairly priced for daily driver types like me. And if you are within warranty, they cannot argue that the after market pads trashed the rotors.

i'me on 31,500 and i still have about half of the pads to go. where can i get a good inexpensive pair of acrylic pads. auto zone only carries the stock pads that leave behind alot of brake dust.
