Default When I turn on the air nothing blows out.

Hey guys need some help. I've got the manuals and trying to systamatically go through it all.
Yesterday I had my air on, no a/c, and stopped to return a movie and it died. It was left on "II" and today still nothing. I've gone through the fuses, but I'm not seeing anything that would just be the "blower".

A/C, rear defroster, and when I turn it from circulating to through I can hear the vents change. Just nothing seems to be blowing.

Any direction on this is appreciated.

try it on 4 and see if it blows real softly. sounds like your blower motor resistor has gone bad...

Nothing at all. I did feel air coming through but I think it was just due to the car moving.

If it was the resistor, the blower would be on high all the time. Must be the blower motor.

^^^ not true. alot of times when resistor goes bad it either doesnt work at all or only on high... Check to see if you have power going to the blower motor itself when you have the air on.

Sounds like a plan. I'll have to start breaking down the glove box and see what is what.

Make sure nothing is stuck in the fan preventing it from turning - you could fry the motor and wiring if it is stuck and you keep the fan turned on. Look for the cabin filter and once removed you should be able to ge tsome access to the squirel cage fan and see if it rotates freely. Could be something got into it. The xB 1st gen also has motorized vents that open and close when switched from recirculate to normal air flow. The AC breakers / fuses are usually under the hood near the AC or battery.

sounds like you need to feed your hamsters a little more, so its an easy fix, get a new gerbil and it will blow twice as much air.

sounds like a relay/fuse issue. or maybe even your blower motor

well found out there was never an air filter in there, which might explain my allergy increase in the last 4 years.

It died again, I'll start at the resistor and work my way to the blower.

Yeah the filter was always optional and most dealers didn't know about them I know because I asked when I bought mine . . . no filter.

Check the fan movement to make sure it is not stuck then the resistors and switch.

To finanlize this thread, I had time today to get under the car.

For fun I stuck my fingers in the blower and moved it around a couple times. It fired up, I don't know what was caught in there, but its free and clear to move now.

Blah spoke to soon. I have to now leave the glove box and twirl it a couple times before I turn it on. I'll replace it when i get to it but for now its a simple answer
