Yeah you got your honDUHs that are quick, 99% are slow and the ones that are fast are gutted to no end.

But we all know that about honDUHs

Now if i can find a way for my Xb ro run in the the 12s I'll be happier than pig in sh*t

I've seen some set ups around and it seems very tempting.

Before I attempt to drop a cooper S I will attemp to drop a 4g63

I'm going to have to check out that link I am very curious to see what mods he has. Hopefully it won't be another honDUH where I have to spend thousands and thousands to get some decent times

You're funny. I spent a total of about $3000 to get my hatchback to run 12.1 and put down 273whp out of a stock single cam motor.

So this is what I always say when the FWD and the RWD issue on racing comes up. I am old school RWD and will admit the FWD's are damn fast nowadays. But I would argue that I can take an old car that costs as much as yours did, spend the 3 grand on engine mods and whup ya at the strip.

It comes down to money. If you want to spend a lot, you go fast. Period. Import, domestic it does not matter. It is even the same with motorcycles. I know the gixers are fast, but I once saw a Harley take one down in the eighth mile. He did it once and lost all races since, but he beat him. The gixer probably blew a shift, but hey, I will take a HD race anyway I can!

Pssssssssttttt. 12s aren't "fast". 12s are relatively quick.

When you get to "fast", you're looking at low 11s/high 10s and under.

I have a buddy who used to have a four door EK civic that was turbo'd and running high 11s/low 12s daily driven. That car was pretty quick, but it was not "fast."

Then again, people who have never been around "fast" cars think that 17 second cars are "quick"....

And the guys that have 10sec cars have no money either. Or they already had a lot of money or they are sponsored. For the regular joe, who want to keep his change, 12s are damn good. especially when the car starts out at 17-18sec

10 second cars can easily be built for less than the price of a new xB....

I never said 12s were "bad", it's just not "fast".

A low 12 second car on street tires and pump gas is still pretty respectable. Sure the quicker street cars are in the low 11's and high 10's and there are many of them around, but compared to the majority of cars around 12 seconds is pretty good. Only a few cars are in the low 12's off the showroom floor. So again when you look at the cars you see day to day, 12's are quicker than most. "fast" is only dependent on what you try to compare it to. Cars you see every day. Cars you see at the street races. Cars you see at the track.

Keep in mind my eclipse last ran 11.6 @ 128. That was 3 years ago. Hoping to improve that if I find the time to finish it up and get it running again. Built the bottom end, and changed a few things but have not had the time or motivation to finish hooking up the fuel and electrical systems.

Thought I'd add fuel to the fire... Track racing is way more fun.

Stock internals. gutted to 2200 Lbs. I/H/E, Toms lightened flywheel, stage 2 Spec clutch, Perrin Crank pulley, Celica GT injectors, Koni's, S-Tech's, upgraded pads, brake lines, rotors, and brake fluid, FN01R-C's and some sticky tires and I can pass Mini Cooper's, keep up with Civics and teg's and make most Import heads look stupid cuz I'm on your ___ with a toaster on wheels.
