I've never seen that gauge mod before.
Do you just switch what wire goes to what needle and then print a new face?

What have you done to your box. J/W Because the stock ecu wont let it go above 118 because of the speed limiter i have hit the speed limiter all the time and it just bounces back down to like 110 and goes back to 118 and i have 205/55-15 on my steelies LOL!!! I am not saying i dont believe you i just know you cant do it with the stock ecu because of the top speed limiter LOL!!! You would need a piggy back or a tuned ecu with the limiter removed of raised or even a chip that lets you go above 118. Did you have everything in your box that you have on your profile in at the time you did it. Just wondering.

Dane, your speedo is showing 122 mph but where is the tach needle? Looks like it's not there. It should be up around the redline at that speed.

While you all fight it out for the fastest xB, I'll claim the slowest one. I drove mine 7238 miles cross-country this Summer and averaged about 46 mph most of the time. Payback for going slow was a 44.7 mpg average fuel economy over the 7238 miles. I'll bet nobody can beat that.

I averaged 59 mpg over 165 miles from Gallup NM to Tuba City AZ, and 51.5 mpg over the 1213 miles from Gallup back to the Bay Area.

You guys who realize the limits of the xB are smart. Almost anybody with almost any V-8 RWD platform will clean your clock Almost anybody with a stock anything will beat most modded xBs. Only the most extreme xBs go fast, and the same amount of effort into most other cars will allow them to kick our best xBs into the gutter.

yeah i know its just the shell but i think if you didnt know about it you would think its just an xB
Power is only good if it's under control. The Chevy isn't a 450, it's a stroked 350 to 383, claiming 450 HP on the RWD. I don't doubt the dyno numbers, the issue is that I've seen the car in motion and the rear end breaks away waaay early, like an unloaded pickup in snow. I think it would take wider tires than what he's running, slicks, and warmed up to keep it down, and even then it would take a skilled driver to keep it at the edge without slipping.

Then again, he never built it to race. it's a one-off show piece, complete with full chrome dressing, silver metallic intake, and airbrushed firewall. He brought his other car as well to the last show, it was an old, 20's or 30's pickup in bright yellow with a wood bed, pretty nice as well.

I know this is the fastest xB thread, but I wish we could just sit back and appreciate the custom work all these guys are doing. Even if it's just doing dyno duty, those who mod help make the market, and because of that, parts available for the rest of us. If not for those select first few, I would not have been able to just go to Dezod and order a set of Crower rods pre-designed for the 1NZ-FE. Instead I would have had to go to Crower directly, and had all my dimensions ready down to .0001 in., something I don't even have the capability to measure.

Don't just be on someone's jock, but at the same time stop the hating just because you didn't have the time, money or resources to push your own build that far. If someone pushes the envelope in one corner, it benefits everyone in the form of a greater market, new parts and better knowledge of what the capability and limitations of the 'B, or 'A for that matter, really are.

Ok, I've said my piece, now I'll go back to my 130 WHP auto and maybe finally finish getting my motor built this year.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the internet needs a sarcasm font.

If HP = ALL, Lotus wouldn't exist, or to illustrate my point:

If 1/4 mile time was the only important thing, I'd finish my AHDRA competitor license for top-fuel nitro bikes (I still might depending on $$ and time).

For barbie doll wheels, only some xB's have pink rims (sorry viet, old pic, can't remember what the new ones look like)
