Since I recently got 18s... I don't see myself breaking that record anytime soon.

not entirely correct.....unsprung weight...and the more power it takes to turn the larger diameter wheel usually result in worse mileage...mine dropped 4mpg when I went to 18's
Thats a valid point. Thanks for bringing it up. I concur on the unsprung weight, however most aftermarket bling bling rims are lighter in weight than a stock steel wheel/tire combo. I presupposed that the said aftermarket rim would be lighter in weight, therefore less rotational mass.

Compared to the vast array of wheels available there are relatively few wheels in 17"+ diameters that are actually lighter than the 15" steelies. Unless you consciously look for a lightweight wheel chances are if you get 17s or larger you are getting a wheel and tire package that is heavier than stock.
Ya, I drag race a ten second Nova wagon, thus I am very conscientious of overall vehicle weight, but then again, I dont run 17" wheels on it either.......

I've never measured how many miles I've gotten by tankful, cause I nevert let my car dip below 1/4 tank...but by calculating between fill ups- the best I've ever gotten was 38mpg. <--Of course this can't be exact, but I can guesstimate it to be a give or take 2mpg thing.
That was only once...no high shifting, no AC, just babying it to see how far I could get.
My usual average is about 32mpg.
A little side note: I've noticed that removing my fogcover in front of my injen gives me a slight gain in higher RPM acceleration, but not as much gain in acceleration as it lowers my mileage...without the cover, I average about 28MPG...interesting.
