I've been meaning to post this for a while, but Scion just put up this billboard about a month and a half ago on the 60 Fwy in City of Industry (here in SoCal).

Obviously, the new xB has been out for months, and the xA isn't even made anymore, so WTH?
Did somebody screw up, or is Scion trying to say something that I'm not getting???

 

They are clearly trying to pimp out our classic rides to push the newer/less desirable stuff.
Plus that shameless plug for bBist.com. For shame!

 

Maybe their trying to make us forget the mistakes they made.

those two won a local contest at Scion Night at Knott's during October, the finalist were rewarded to be featured on the billboard which finally materialized a while ago.

estoy aqi. yeah this billboard was a contest invited by Scion LA Reigonal during Halloween. dodgerxA and I took it for Alpha SQUAD So Cal. As for the bBist comment......that bBist decal has been there for almost 2 years. I proudly rock and back my sponsor(s). Its not a shameless plug, but I stay dedicated to people who give me a chance. As dodgersA is to M2 Motoring and our team to Toyota of Pasadena and other companies. bBist had nothing to do with this, but that billboard was a "team" effort.

Although I think for the public at large they should have maybe mentioned something about the billboard's purpose? It's pretty strange seeing a Scion corporate advertisement showcasing vehicles they don't even make any more!

 

It's not national news, it's local. Maybe why it was not advertised anywhere. It was a show of respect to it's loyal customers dude. So Cal is a crazy huge scion scene and $$ maker for the company. But yeah this was talked about and announced a while ago on the forums.

Maybe you have not been around.. or don't really know the scene at all or you would have prob. heard of or seen both of those cars quit frequently. Not to mention know about Alpha Squad.

PS: they both look great by the way.

This is better than a lot of the older ads, at least these 2 are real cars, built by owners, not made in photoshop.

And to answer your question, in case you hadn't noticed, I'm 50 years old, so no, I'm not really into "the scene". Kind of like most 37 year olds aren't either...
Sorry I missed earlier postings. I didn't start this thread to get verbally slapped around. I just saw a strange billboard, and thought it was odd and would be an interesting piece of conversation here...

 

Hahaha, sorry to have gotten you so sore. Oh well, can't please everyone I guess. Don't be so sensitive. There are a few older folk in the scene that are older than me and we doing just fine.

I think this thread in general was sort of off and even if I did not know the people/cars or clubs I prob. would not have posted a thread like this since it risks insulting people to begin with. Esp. cause I am local.
