Default xB 2.0

Mt partner and I are hoping to get a xB 2.0 I guess the dealer we are going to buy from is reported by them to be the #1 Scion dealer in the country. Lake City Toyota/Scion, in Seattle WA. It will be the auto, we have a 90 Taurus SHO and the 5 speed, heavy clutch is getting to be way to much in the never ending traffic we arer having to encounter. I think that the small size, and the somewhat large inside would be a good fit for us and our three Corgis. Sooo with luck and the pull of the dealer we should have it the end of next month.
Fingers crossed
B~

Wow, be prepared to go a lot slower. I like the scion, but it's nowhere close to as fast.

Don't buy into that "largest dealerhsip in the country" bs. I went to the true #1 dealer, here in El Monte, CA - Longo Toyota/Scion, and nothing was special. Dealerships try to tack on fees by claiming they are #1. Good luck, but remember, the dealer can't do much about pricing, since its "pure pricing" - no haggle/hassel.

when i bought my Xb i had toyota vip status and was fully hooked up by a toyota VP at corporate in torrance. When i walked in the sales manager said that they could take thousands, yes thousands off just about any new toyota on the lot but could give me nothing off the scions due to contract.

soooo my point the dealership can do nothing on a new scion for you as far as parts go, though i did get a free rear bumper aplique out of it (though it looks liek i am not gonna use it!)

I know the price is 16K and change there is a 1,300 and change uping in the price for the 2.0 that's cool. It's worth the upgrade in price to own a car with only 2100 being produced. We'd like to get a lower numbered one like under 100 but we will gladly take what we get!! As far as going slower? We over the years we have had a Suzuki Samuri with 89hp 5spd, a Toytoa Corolla FX16 auto yes it was quick. Either slow or fast as long as it works and works for a long time, not to worry.

We have not even test drove one yet. I am hoping that it will be up to task. If I can get Tim to go we might do the test today, the dealership has two on the lot.
One of the reasons for wanting the 2.0 is the skock colors except wht, and silver are to dark. This is seattle ya this means rain mud and the like. The SHO is blk and it always looks dirty an hour after washing it. I hate being seen in a dirty car! We also have an '88 Lincoln Towncar it is wht. even at it's worst from a distance it looks ok as far as clean goes. The yellow of the 2.0 is bright, happy, and well just fun. It also is great for "safety" you'll be seen for quite a distance.
I was wondering though does Scion have DRL? "day time running lights" it would be nice. I always run the headlights all the time anyway. It would just be nice to have them, but not a real biggie.

Default xB 2.0

Test drive complete ! The car we drove had been lowered and had low profile rims. The Sales guy was tring to tell us the the ride is not the same as a regular unmod. car. So here I was thinking the Samuri all over with a bone buster ride ahead, to my surprise it felt much like the SHO, not so much a bumpy ride but rather sure footed. The power was enough, no rockett. I think drag racing is out of the question lol. One thing I did notice is the steering wheel seemed to be a bit off center to the left. Mabey it's just me. Has anyone else noticed this?
Other than that it was a good driver. Tim is going to talk to the sales manager on the 7th if things can be done over the phone. Then the hundred deposit will be put down and the Xb 2.0 Auto is in the bag
I know the 2.0 has the mesh grill, the turn indacater mirrors, the blk/yellow int., the wing, does anyone know what other goodies are on or in it? I would hope that there would be more but....
About the only extra we're going to get is the wipe clean cargo protector ,and the paint clear tape rock protector. We're also goign to get seat covers as well, with three Corgis that shed 365 24/7 they are a must!
Can't wait to get our big YELLOW babie. Woo HOO
Tis all for now

yeah. . . supposedly its something that happens to the alignment during transport. . . there is a TSB out for it (that means it is fixed for free by the dealer). If you want pep, the 5spd has a lot more kick to it, and the clutch is MUCH lighter than your SHO. I used to hate driving manuals in traffic, but my 5spd is no problem at all. But I do understand 100% why you would choose an auto over manual, despite the power increase.

Well the 2.0 is in the bag <BG> I can alrady see the solar yellow blazing a path through traffic. OK mabey not so much blazing but rather rolling with a big bright smile, after all yellow is a happpy color. I already have the bB badges on order, both front and back. The only dealer opts. are going to be the cargo mat and the clear bra. 3M has got a really great product with that. I thought it best to have it since the front of the xB is a rolling rock magnet, and the clear bra can have rock after rock hit it and the paint won't chip, the kit also covers the mirrors and the door cups.
So sometime next month it will be in and ours I's just so happy.

Saw the 2.0 at the auto show in Chicago yesterday. The color is amazing on the box. I fell in love, started thinking about tradin my Camo in for it, but my wife wasn't on board with that idea.

You'll enjoy it, and get a lot of attention. Congrats.

Congrats! Excellent choice! If my wife didn't already have a yellow Mini Cooper (with white roof and white bonnet stripes) I would've definitely waited to get the yellow box... but I'm really enjoying my Polar White box.

I owned 2 Suzuki Samurais over the years. Amazing little vehicles and the most trouble-free vehicles I've ever owned. I would've bought a 3rd, but Suzuki stopped importing them. The ride wasn't bad once you got used to your spine shooting up through your skull.

In day-to-day driving, the xB has much more power, better handling, better ride, but just as much fun as the Samurai.

Geez! We're happy when we finish Top 10 in a month! No one even gets near Longo in volume!!

Dealer shouldn't be able to do ANYTHING about pricing.

Well we got the news today. Our 2.0 is in transit, and due to hit Seattle in two weeks.
We were hopping for a bit more time as to get a larger down payment With all that is going on in our lifes, it could turn in to something else to worry about. We were wanting payments in the $240.00 range. Looks like now it will be in the $270.00 range.
I just hope were not shooting ourselfs in the head.

I am exceited about gettng it earlier, Tim is freaking, he has not totaly wraped his head around the whole idea.
So in two weeks we'll be vroom vroom in the new zoom zoom.
One more thing it will be changed to a bB I have founf the front and rear bB emblem.

Any ideas as to where I can find the bB that goes inside in\on the center stack?

Fivedays and counting March first is fast in comming. Soon There will be
A fun Yellow baby to look after, and soop up. I was thinking of graphics for the body, but then thought of resale value. Not sure as to keep it stock or rev it up. I guess the best thing to do is put only things that can be removed with out damage to paint. Oh what to do, what to do.
Pic's to come soon.
