Yep. Saw that on digg (and was surprisingly dugg up by xB bashers). Moral of the story: If you're going to get hit in the side, turn the car and face them head on. ;)

Excellent! It's nice to finally see footage of the frontal test, since the box performed so outstandingly.

Already seen the side impact test. As long as you don't pull in front of a Yukon doing 50 you should be okay. Still, as the boys above said, powersliding through the dangerous intersections might not be a bad idea.

Maybe the IIHs will actually get around to testing the new ones BEFORE they're discontinued.

Yeah, what was up with that??? They waited till dang near the end of the production run to realease this stuff.
Wouldn't have changed my mind anyways. When you are in love nothing else matters.

The catagory wasn't very successful when the xB first came out and there were no comparable vehicles to choose from. They tested when they had the Versa and Fit to compare.

The results are pretty much expected since it doesn't have side airbags.

After seeing that I'm glad most of my driving is in stop and go traffic. Drive the speed limit, look both ways, and protect your xB.

Yes, and never be the first vehicle entering an intersection after the light turns green. Just because you have a green light doesn't mean the coast is clear. I learned that from riding motorcycles.

Before anyone panics, the xB got the same ratings in both scores as the Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marqui, and Ford Crown Victoria. It also had better frontal results than the GMC Envoy and GMC/Chevrolet 1500 truck. Just proves Jeep drivers are realists. Who's that door going to protect? Might as well just take it off and enjoy the air.

The best news I found from those results is that the back seat passenger in a Buick Lacrosse will live.

These 'Boxes actually hold together one hell of a lot better than the side crash tests indicate....

The test is done - intentionally - with an Improbably Short Dummy and a Rather Tall Barrier. It's designed to annihilate anything without side airbags.

No car without side airbagbs has ever recieved anything but a POOR rating. It's IIHS' way of getting carmakers to make them standard - by freaking people out. Some would call it intellectual terrorism, but sometimes that's the only way to get stupid people (i.e. the Average Car-Buying Public) to think about certain issues.

so as long as i drift threw most intersections i sould be ok. cool, thats all you have to say.

your perspective always has to do with your view, if someone helps change your view ever so slightly you hole perspective will change.
