Default xB in Gran Turismo 4

The got the xB wrong unforunately.
In the game it comes with a 4-speed. OK so maybe it's supposed to be the automatic.

I have the 5-speed. But my understanding is that the gearing for both the manual and automatics are quite short. Any of you with a 4-speed will have to take a look at it. In GT4 I can tell the acceleration is too slow through all gears and it won't go faster than about 107 mph because the gearing is way too long. @ 107 or so, it sits there in 4th at about 4000rpm refusing to accelerate.

What a disappointment!

in any gt game you can adjust the gearing ratio for the car to short or lengthen the gears, you might to try that out.

Yeah, I dropped in the custom 6-speed and set 1st and 6th to match actual gear ratios and spread out the other 4 evenly fill in the rest, and set the final as well. But even so, it appears to be drag limited at around 107-110 mph.

People have said they got there boxes up to 120, so it must not be drag limited at 110?!?

Well,
I did a web search for the xB top speed and I came up with 109 MPH and 103 MPH. which IS consistant with GT4. I've not yet tested those figures myself. If anyone has gone faster in their box, on level ground, without a strong tailwind please post your info.

Just to let you know...The GT4 "xB" is actually a first generation bB. Since this game came from Japan they just rebadged it a xB quickly and didnt make all the changes. In Japan they don't have MT bB so all they have is 4-speed AT which explains why it only has 4 gears. Hope this explains it. Also one last thing...I got mine to 200+ hp and it was still slow...I mean damn I think my personal box could go faster then the game one.
