xB Handles in Snow??
Living in mid-Ohio with trips into West Virginia during 2 winters, I can say it does just fine. Although tire choice does play a BIG part: 195/60 stock tires on 15" steelies work well (skinnier and taller is better for snow---check out rally cars).
During warmer months I run 205/55x15 Falken ZE-512s on alloys and those do NOT work on snow at al. But in winter I run 185/65x15 Michelin X-Ices on alloys---all FOUR corners mind you, to get the most out of VSC, ABS, etc.---and no problems at all.
Clearance was never an issue, and for the occasional need of avoidance turning/stopping RIGHT NOW on ice/snow, using the emergency brake following a tug on the wheel results in a beautiful, controlled right angle (or as much as you need) pirouette. Very stable and easy to contain.
Hey, TOASTERS ROCK in all kinds of weather . . .

yep, they do pretty darn well. I'm a little reluctant to take mine out _right now_ just because we got 3 feet last week that was never cleaned up, and we're on our way to another 2 feet today into saturday.
I have clearance issues.
but yeah, with the occasional dusting to 6" or so, she's just fine!
on another note, this has been posted more times than i can count.

CHICAGO TOASTER SQUAD REPRESENT!
Best car ever. I was originally concerned with clearance from our supahlow front bumper, but eventually I discovered that it acts as sort of a mini-snowplow, moving enough of the snow that the wheels have no problem. IT'S SO CUTE ZOMG
I adopted my box after driving two Chevy off-roaders, and I was not disappointed.
plus, as an added bonus, they're a breeze to clean off, since snow doesn't generally stick to a vertical surface :D
I've only been stuck once in the life of the car, and that was in 20 inches of snow on top of four inches of ice. As I was leaving work that day, out of 17 cars in the lot, only two of them left the lot under their own power, so I didn't really fell inadequate.
When my coworker in the Cherokee gets stuck, I can't really complain.
After that blizzard, there were a FEW times I had to drop the Traction Control and punch it (I would not advise this to anyone who is not an experienced mudder), and it performed beautifully.
ONLY DOWNSIDE: a little snow in the wheel wells will make your box vibrate like a chihuahua after five espressos.
And by "a little" I mean "not actually visible to the naked eye."
Have fun!

Mine drove just fine when we had some snow here in Missouri. Couldn't get up a hill that had ice on it though. Made me miss work for a day & had me stuck at home for 2 days. I actually ended up making it up the hill in reverse.
& everyone in my nieghborhood kept asking me it my xB had 4 wheel drive.
I just bought my xB in October. Soon after, I bought 18s and then came the first decent snow here in KS. The directional tires I had did horrible. It took me 10 minutes to get like 1 or 2 city blocks and the VSC and ABS were goin crazy, had to turn around and miss work. Then I got stuck once and had to get a running start to get in the parking lot where I live. After that I put the stock steelies back on with the stock Eagle LSs. Then came the next snow. I was really worried, but it ended up bein one of the best cars I've drivin in the snow. I was passin people on the highway but, still had total control. I'd get nervous and test the brakes occasionally, but overall it did exceptional. I just learned that you almost have to have 2 sets of wheels one for winter driving.

Mine does fine, until it gets really deep- doesn't weigh enough or have enough ground clearance to get down to something solid when it gets deep. Even the stock tires are decent in the snow- it's the only reason I've kept 'em. There's sufficient ground clearance to handle the deep frozen ruts around here after a couple of monster storms, if you're reasonably careful maneuvering thru...

I just drove mine from So Cal to Mid Missouri this past weekend (you know, the weekend that the midwest had that damn winter storm
). Anyways, the box handled all the bad road conditions pretty good. I had just put a new set of all season tires on it last week too. It would get a little dorifto happy on the bridges w/ ice (probably from the lack of weight back there). & considering all the SUVs & 4WD/4X4 vehicles on the side of the road or on there sides on the side of the road, I'd say the box did very well (I did have to drive it like a grandma in some spots though, let me do the 1600+ mile trip w/o a major problem).
I only drive mine when it snows because of it's superior performance. The rest of the time it sits in the garage. I try to start it occasionally in the summer so the battery doesn't run down or put a trickle charger on it.
