Default the xB and my guitars...

ok, i am soon to join the ranks of the xB owners...(my parents told me as soon as i save up $2000 for a down payment, they would cosign for a car loan and we could order my xB), but my question is, i normally haul my bass with me at least 2 days of the week, and trying to get a bass in a hard-shell case into the trunk of a mustang is an experience to say the least. especially if there's ANYTHING in the trunk, but...does anybody happen to know if one will fit in the xB with the rear seats folded down? it looks like it might, but i just want to double-check. also, if somebody wants to go fold down your rear seat and measure how much cargo space you have from front to back, that would be greatly appreciated.

If it is just the bass in a hardshell case there is no need to even lay down the seat. I lay mine of it's side across the floor in the back. What kind of bass do you have? Here is a link to my bass collection> https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...259&highlight=

I used to haul, myself, my friend, both of our 7-string guitars in hard cases, 2 Mesa/Boogie dual rectifier heads and 2 Mesa/Boogie 4x12 cabinets in my xB to and from practice.. It made the xB hella slow, but it all fit in just fine.

Why wouldn't it? I fit my 6' surfboard in the back all the time. I guess of you've never sat in the inside of an xB, you have no idea how big it is.

My Carvin fretless and Fender Jazz basses in their hardshell cases, along with my Fender Bassman 10 (vintage 1975) all fit in the back of my xB (seatbacks folded) with a ton of room to spare. It's not even close to tight.

I have put my Ampeg 2x15 (vintage 1970), Ampeg SVT III, SD Curlee bass and my steinberger (would fit in just about anything) along with a box of cords and doo dads with plenty of room up front for me and a buddy. There is something like 100 sqft of space in the xB.

Amazing to see all these Bass players on here.

I've fit keyboard, 65watt crate amp, and two guitars (in their cases) with the seats down and one guitar up front.

I put my Carvin bass with hardshell case in my xA all the time! It fits in the floorboard of the back seat. I could lay in on the back seat, but I have a child seat. If it fits the xA, you shouldn't have any prob.

Bass players are the practical ones. They're the tech-savvy ones. They're usually the ones who produce the band's demos and oversee the logistics. They always have appropriate transportation (unlike drummers, who always need to borrow your van).

It doesn't surprise me at all to see an unusually large proportion of Scion owners among bass players. :D

That's pretty accurate, from my experience. I'm fairly happy with the tone that I get with absolutely no pedals. This is very unlike our two guitarists, who have a zillion pedals. They are constantly buying guitars, amps, and heads to try to get the "perfect" sound.

Me... I'm just happy layin' out the low end!
