xB Release 3.0 What is port installed and what is factory
#5
Curious whether all the noise and rattles in the xB are from production or port installation?
Do you get more rattles with more options?
I am satisfied with car with the exception of rattles. If all Toyota products rattle like this my next car will not be a Toyota.
I am surprised Toyota has not corrected the problems in the 3 years of production.

The rear valance doesn't get installed until it reaches the dealer. The HU, headrests, and spoiler are all installed @ the port. I guess you wonder how I know. I have connections j/k I believe the security is installed @ the dealer.

Do people without any port / dealer options installed also have the same rattle problems?
I was curious if it was caused by taking the trim off and putting it back on.
Thanks,
John
Should I take my car to the dealer to have the rattles fixed or live with them?
I still really like the car. It is roomy, fun to drive, and sips gas!

Come on now.. its a 15k car... made of aluminum foil, two bolts, some string, and 1.5tons of plastic and you expect it not to rattle/shake/make noises???
And I love everybit of my boxes!!!!!!

I've seen a few posts about people fixing rattles. Many of the actions taken are very simply. I'm surprised scion doesn't take them into account in future years.
It is a $15K car, but it is a $15K car intended to get you to buy one of their $30K cars.
I bought it as an inexpensive commuter car but also in an attempt to see what all the fuss was about toyota having such great quality.
Where can I find information on how to properly disassemble the scion's interior without trashing the trim panels?
Thanks,
John
