Default xB security system problems

A very dumb question but ... does anyone know of a way to disable the 2005 xB security system (dealer installed) without leaving the doors unlocked? Our alarm has taken to going off at random, with no discernable reason (that is, no thiefs, animals, window tapping woodpeckers, high winds or other car shaking events). Obviously, we'll be checking with the dealer once they open, but it's nearing 11 p.m. here in Hawaii, so don't have anyone to call and our neighbors are not the happiest of campers, given that the alarm seems to go off at random every 40 minutes or so. It seemed to even be going off with the doors unlocked, but in either case, we'd rather not leave our lovely little baby unlocked in a high traffic neighborhood.

So...if anyone has any ideas on how to disable the alarm temporarily without leaving the car unlocked (and, also, any ideas why the alarm might be going off in the first place ... I suspect a short somewhere, as I"ve lately been getting small static shocks when getting out of the car, which I never get in Hawaii -- high humidity, low static electricity? -- anyway, it's all very weird.)

Static shocks just come with the territory with our cars apparantly. I doubt that has anything to do with the alarm.

Hmmm...the shocks just started for me a couple days ago though, after three months with the car. No change in the weather, or other external things that could cause it, I think. It sounds odd, but having lived in Hawaii all my life, I've NEVER been shocked by a car ... it happens all the time when I'm on the continental U.S., I assume because of lower humidity there.

Aaaaanyway, thanks for the response ... the more pressing issue remains figuring out why the alarm is suddenly going off at it's own random pleasure.

If you have the alarm manual there are instruction in it on how to reprogram the alarm to NOT auto-arm. I don't recall if there was a way to shut ot off entirely, but there may be.

Yep -- it's a bit of a mystery. We don't have the auto-arm function set, but from what I can decipher in the manual, there's no way to disarm altogether. At one point last night it seemed to be going off even when the doors were unlocked (which I guess indicates that we might actually have it auto-arming after all ...), but now seems to be functioning as it should. Oh well -- dealer opens in a couple hours and we've made it through the night with no more disgruntled neighbors so... we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for responding!
