Default xB in snow is fun and safe...

Snow hit Maryland hard today. xB give me a lot of confidence on the road with 4 inch of snow. I have doubted that its light weight may cause easy slip on snow, but I was totally wrong about it. It does give great control. When others (Camry, 4X4 and SUV) have to pay special attention to their driving speed, I just ride like every other day. Oh, thanks to its VSC and ABS. #1 in the class.

However, when snow accumulated over 6 inches, I will keep in on the driveway.

I've seen several posts about how good the XB is in snow. I live in South Carolina so snow is rare but I would like to know if you are using the standard 15"s or another wheel/tire combo in the snow.

Default XB Needs Snow Tires

XB with stock tires is LOUSY in snow - no grip.
I'm in the Northeast - Put on a set of (4) snow tires - I have Cooper WeatherMaster SNOW tires - stock size and this little car is great in snow! . Very few companies make SNOW tires in XB size - only other company I know is Bridgestone Blizzak, which are great tires but they wear down quickly due to extremely soft compound. Cooper is best deal - Huge difference in performance!

I have to disagree about the stock tires, while they are all seasons, and I know that snow tires are always better, The stock tires do just fine in snow, we live in Iowa and we've had some pretty good snows this winter, every time I drive in snow I'm amazed at how well this car does....I'm on the stock tires too.

Stock tires are fine for regular snow driving. I'm from Buffalo originally and have never had snow tires on any of my cars and got around fine. My xB handled the snow nicely here in virginia.

I live in upstate New york and we got a foot of snow yesterday. I have the stock tires and I had no trouble at all. As a matter of fact I was amazed how well that little box handled. No slipping or sliding at all. Very impressive.

yea im in jersey and we got hit hard, i was a lil nervous about taking it out but i was amazing how my stock xb handled, i never once felt like i couldnt handle it nor did i feel unsafe in anyway, except for when dumb jersey drivers creeped around. so yea i was amazed how confident i am driving in any conditions, stock tires and all.
