xb stick or automatic
I got the slushbox in my xA, love it! The revs are way down at hiway speeds, so the engine feels better...I have enuff pep to bark the tires if the conditions are right.
I could kick myself for not getting the cruise control...

A stick gives you control over the box, while the auto keeps the car in control of you.
Friends, dont let friends drive autos.

Have driven stick for many years. This is my first auto vehicle.
Got stick on the box so GF could drive it too. I don’t miss the stick. I ride a bicycle enough to keep my legs in shape without stick.
This will be my first winter without stick but I am pretty sure the box will perform just fine without she clutch.
Keeps my hands free for the phone, PDA, coffee, newspaper and other stuff I see people doing while they drive…

I'd say if you do a majority of city driving, like me, get auto. (Resale value also could be a little better)
If your a highway mostly type person, stick.
I will say that I just drove with 2 other xBs, both stick and both drivers were very impressed that I kept up and/or passed at interstate speeds.
There is nothing wrong w/ an auto.

Uhhhh . . . no. You've got that bass-ackwards, methinks. The stick gets better mileage in the city and it performs slightly better. The auto has a taller top gear so the engine revs are less on the highway, so better mileage there. And the auto is always jumping up and down in the city . . . .
>There is nothing wrong w/ an auto.
True, certainly. But the place the stick shines is in the city . . . assuming a driver who knows how to drive one well . . . .

eh the box is slow. got an auto because no matter what anyone says, shifting gears really does get annoying in city traffic unless:
A. Your car has a turbo and a loud BOV. that makes shifting fun no matter what.
B. Your car is actually looks and is fast. the box doesnt look fast and its not supposed to be, so auto for me.
