Default xB Taxi Cabs???

Has anyone been to London and been in those funky taxi busses? Wouldn't it be cool if they were xb's. Someone needs to start an xB taxi service in the states. Of course they might need luggage compartments on the roofs in case the fair wants to bring alot of luggage. However, for the late night party crowd it would be an awsome drunk bus. At the moment they are using 3/4 ton vans for this purpose.

I know that various taxi operators have tried minivans in the past, since they're easier to get in and out of and can hold more passengers. But they turned out not to be durable enough for all-day-every-day driving. I imagine the same would be true for an xB. They might be tough enough for light shuttle work, though.

They have those tall english cabs running around here in SF, They look funky but not that much like an xB except for the high roofline...

People that buy the RS2 xB in Yellow will probably have people jumping in there backseats by mistake... ;)

Way coool rendering! But the NYC streets might kill them, and how would you fit two or three people with luggage from the airport?
NYC cabs can fit a bicycle in the trunk...with the wheels ON!

I heard that the daytime rental companies in the city (rent for 2-3 hour places) are renting out xBs.. I hope that ain't true.. It's worse enough hearing the milktruck or the boxy comments..

I think it would be a great taxi. Better than those gas guzzleing Crown Vic's and the like.

As a side note, there is a dude running around Tacoma in a ES 300 he changed over to a taxi with rims and tint and a body kit. Thought it would be funny to be a taxi cab driver so he took his car, pimped it out and became a licenced taxi driver. wierd, but kinda cool.

Gas guzzling?? My 94 Police Interceptor (same car they use as taxis because of all the HD parts) get 22 MPG city and 30 MPG highway. And remember... this is coming from a V8! A tank of gas lasts me about 3 weeks because I have a mile and a half commute to work and the talk is about 25 gallons.

Default xb Taxicabs

We are a small seven taxi company in the Pittsburgh suburbs. We just purchased three
xBs as taxis to replace three of our aging Dodge Carvans. The Caravans ranged in mileage from 190,000 to 327,000 miles. We are looking forward to better gas mileage from the xBs and hopefully as many miles. If anyone on the forum is currently using the xB as a cab please contact me at greenstaxi@yahoo.com
