Default Yakima Cargo Boxes

Anyone using a cargo box on their roof rack? I was thinking of installing a Yakima roof rack and then using their Skybox for storage on a vacation. If anyone is using one I'd like to see photos of it on your xB. I'm considering getting their 18 cu. ft. model.
Since I have yet to receive my xB I'd like to know the dimensions of the roof. It's not one of the dimensions listed on the Scion homepage. I don't want the cargo box any longer than the roof.

I have a Yakima rack on my xb with the BasketCase basket, and I have put my parents SpaceCase box up top for a trip and it is longer than the roof but that matters little.

Did you notice a big decrease in your fuel efficiency? I read a couple of posts elsewhere on the net and two xB owners said they had a 30% decrease even with the aerodynamic Yakima boxes.

Of course, sut I never tracked gas mileage on the one trip with the box. I can tell you that with 2 snowboards on one side and the basket loaded with camping gear and a kids bike, travelling at 75 down the freeway, we still managed 27 mpg. Not bad if you ask me.

I finally got my envy green yesterday. Had to drive 230 miles to pick it up but it was worth it. I love it. I read the owner's manual and found that the load limit for an xB is just 825 lbs. so if you have 5 adults with you you're about there or exceeded it. Since the load limit is so low I think I'll just limit what I carry to what will fit inside the xB.

5 adults is going to be a tight fit as it is....so you'll be pushing it with that alone. Me, my wife, and two kids in car seats with the back full and the rack loaded worked just fine.
