Does anyone have a lead on an Exterior Tailgate Handle aka Garnish for my 2012 xB?

I can only find one for 04-08.

Yes, thank you. Do you know if there's a non Toyota dealer option? What I mean is, different manufacturer for less $? It's not critical so I can't bring myself to spend that much for an eyesore? Sorry that I wasn't clear with that on my first post.

 

I am not myself aware of a non Toyota dealer option for a New Part.
Essentially, 3rd Party Vendors do not like to make new small parts for a Discontinued Product Line like Scion.

You can try a local auto junkyard or Pick n' Pull. Sometimes even eBay might have a Pre-Owned Part.

You already have the Part Numbers shown on the Above Link.

Just do a SEARCH on the Part No.

You can order the chrome garnish for the Toyota Rumion from Japan and Dare 2B Different offered one as well. Both are not cheap. Best bet as MR LUV said is to source one from a junkyard.

 

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I was confused as to what a "garnish" was. This is the piece right below the Scion logo? As in, the back gate door handle, correct?

 

Yes. That is Correct. Scion / Toyota's Official Name for the Hatch Door Handle is 'Garnish'. That is Their Nomenclature as in the Parts List here:

Broken Hatch Handles were a HUGE problem in xB Gen1 (2004-2006.5) The Poor Weak Cheap Engineering Design Plastic Handle kept on breaking with little use.
I went through 2- New ones at $90 apiece on my 2006 xB. Then Scion finally came out with a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) to repair them for a Limited Time under Warranty.

Then the Same Idiot Design Team incorporated that in their tC1s (2005-2010) Garnish. They kept breaking until they also came out with their own TSB.

I THINK the xB2 (2008-2015) Garnish were Improved. Not Bulletproof, but less prone to Breakage.
