Not sure if I'm right, but I believe the flat black areas are the tape that scion put on there. I took the tape off of my A-Pillars(each side of the windshield) today and it looks awesome!!!! I suggest just doin that, cus those areas are gonna be a pain to make look good. Just my opinion though!

yeah the black areas on the pillars and doors are just vinyl overlays. i have used turtle wax ICE and its a good wax. my only problem is with the applicator. the applicator is bigger than the opening in the tub. so you end up having half an applicator with wax on it and you get really sick of flipping the applicator really fast...

my definition of nice is just clean vinyls with no finger prints. i did apply some of the wax on and it didnt get shiny but it didnt get dull either. i dont think you can really polish matte vinyls

drying spot free really depends on the water cause even with a towel i got hard water spots...

i really want to invest in the mr. clean autodry for the filter at least. anyone have experience with that?

Yes, it works well with the water here in Southen Nevada which is pretty much like showering in gravel. The autodry worked like a charm. Just follow the directions. I've switch to using Meguiars for my soap but my final rinse is with the filter

I just did a quick wax today....I almost threw away my ICE. When applying it, I felt like I was rubbing grease all over the car. It did wipe off the plastic, but I just wasn't happy with it. Halfway through, I switched to NXT, which I thought worked well...I'm going to stick to that

soft water is really key to water marks..i have a water softner at my house and its hooked up to the hose and i dont get water marks period water marks is from hard water and the minerals in the water.

sorry you feel that way! i felt that it was quite good... you have to let it dry off for a couple mins before going for the polishing step.
