Default Emblem removal

I already know about this topic here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20747

I removed the xB emblem no problem last night. The large Scion emblem under the wiper was a bit trickier, I was able to saw through parts of the emblem with fishing line and then eventually had to pry it off. But upon prying it off, I discovered 2 little holes. Argh! So I had to put the emblem back on. The little holes are on the left and right edges of the emblem.

Now I'm thinking of just chopping off the oval part of the emblem, repainting it, and having a rectangular badge that says Scion. This will fill the holes back in. The thing I hate about the Scion badge is that oval part makes it hard to clean the inside of the emblem.

Other option is to install a reverse camera that takes place of one of the holes but the other hole will still need to be filled in.

The way I see it, we're all stuck between a rock and a hard place. You either replace the emblem with something else or you fill in those holes and paint over them. Any other ideas?

The holes are rather small. Maybe 1/8th of an inch. I believe they were staggered, too (one was just slightly higher than the other). No exposed metal, obviously painted after the holes were drilled.

My guess is so it is perfectly aligned. Wish they would have used a jig or something.

Yeah, I came across that last night too while removing the rear wiper, which is almost identical to the 1st gen BTW. 1 pop of plastic, 1 10mm nut, a little tug on the wiper, then 3 10mm bolts, and the wiper is gone! ...same hole size, same grommet, same everything.
If you want the Scion emblem gone, you are probably going to need to fill and paint. I popped mine back on until I decide what to do.

Use floss tied around 2 items of your choice, cause it will cut ur fingers, slide the floss under the badges and peel away, then all you have to do is used a lil wd40 to remove the excess adhesive. hope this helps

I found this out from Nish.. I think scion was smart this time.. That emblem is a way of advertising for them.. you take it off and no one will know what kind of car it is..

im making a very suddle mid wing. I dont know how it will look.. but thats my idea on how to cover up those hole with out body working.

Even the front grill has holes under the badge..

I was looking at the inside cover on the rear hatch. Anyone know if there is a dyi for removing the plastic cover? I don't see any snaps like the first gen. Does it just pop off? Didn't want to start pulling on it and break something .

double sided tape would work but its also not too reliable in cold weather. i'd recommend silicon.

why did you take it off in the first place if you wanna put them back on?
