Figure Engineering Grille DIY

Kind of a waste not to buy & install the upper grille also. You overlooked the beauty of matching the upper & lower grilles... just my opinion of course.
I absolutely hate the "holey" OEM top grill, but thanks for the DIY.

The top grille didn't bother me as much. The vent and lower grilles bothered me the most because of the lower different designs. I wanted something different yet subtle not extreme and the kit got the job done.
If anything I recommend a direct clip in replacement. The fog light lower grille fit perfect. The vent grille takes some adjustment to make it to ones liking. I just wish Scion made a fender liner vent behind the vent to tunnel air to the brakes like on Lexus, some Subaru's, and BMW's. I was thinking of custom making one, but this car is only my dog, kayak, biking, beach mobile. I bought this kit because it was made for our boxes with fog lights. I hope this will help others.

Update:
I do notice that the vehicle is a little bit nosier from all the extra air running through the bay. The only major exit I see through the vented grilles are between the hood and the windshield. 3 days later I was driving on the freeway at 70mph. I suddenly heard plastic rubbing loudly. I pulled over to find out my fender liner, on my passenger side, was shredded. When reinstalling all the under trays I noticed how torn up, from the previous owner, where the bolts and screws were placed. I thought nothing of it. Now considering how much air flow is traveling through the vents, I guess it finally gave in. $50 later all is new and now I need to relocate my H.I.D. Ballast and my voltage stabilizer because they are located in the fender area on my driver side. I would hate for the liner to come off and having the wires get wrapped in the axle causing some serious damage.
*Note: Make sure fender liner and under tray is in good condition.

Yea with a white xB it might be a little easier to see the zip ties, but my friend actually installed mine and he did the zip ties as close to inside the car as possible while keeping the grille still attached, and I can't even see them and I know where they are at! haha
Glad that I could help you with your decision on the grille
