if it were me, i would NOT cut it. you never know if that little flap may hide some of the undercarrige from view. if you were following your gen2 in traffic, you may see something you don't want to see, plus if gives the exaust tip a "finished" look as opposed to just "hanging" off the back. i would paint it if at all. personally i think it looks fine as is, but if you are concearned with it, paint it black, and use a matte clear coat. you can paint it and clear it yourself, it's such a small area. most paint shops will sell you automotive paint and clear coat in an aerosol can, so you can do it yourself for about $30... just remove the rear bumper, mask off all areas not to be painted, and hit it with about 4-6 coats of color, then 4-6 coats of matte clear.. let dry and re-install. don't wash or wax it for about a month though while the paint cures...

paints not my worry for me. my bike shop has a painter that does everything for pretty much free as long as i keep bringing him business. i just dont like how theres 2 cut outs. if it was just one cut out fot the exhaust i wouldnt mind just painting it black. and i dont care if people see my undercarrige. its just kinda weird to me if i leave it white

Dropped on TRD's... scraped my front lip as I was leaving my parent's house one evening. That's when I realized that the paint actually didn't adhere to the kit. it started flaking off, needless to say the paintshop is repainting them (front and rear lip)
I actually live in the Everwett area. I also bought a mud guard protector to clean up some of the gaps on the rear lip...pics coming of course..

My wife and I want to go to McMenamins in Portland heard of that all?

don't cut it. I saw a lip kit install in siphon magazine and I think they painted it black. It was a second gen xB. They also painted the inside lip that is in thefender well. It cleans it up real nice.
