Default full grille on RS5

just picked up a new grill from Figure Engineering. I had this setup on my first gen xb and I was real happy with the quality. Install took me about 2 hours including removal of bumper (according to instructions you dont need to remove it, but drilling holes in a bumper while under your car on jacks is nearly impossible imo, so i just took it off) and drilling holes in tabs and fastening grille into place with UV resistant zip ties, and re-installing bumper. Overall process was pretty easy, would have been much quicker with an extra set of hands/eyes. Im pretty happy with the look, something other than stock and now the side vents are actual vents!!!! Sorry bout quality of pics, had to resize them when i sent from my phone to photobook, didnt turn out so good . . . kinda sucks considering my camera on phone is 5 megapixels!! anyways let me know what you think, if you dont like it, its all good, share your thoughts and Im sure others will take it into consideration when buying their grille.

It looks super clean I'm digging it. I really want to get this for my box as well. Did you get it off of ebay? And how easy was it to remove and then reinstall the bumper? I hear it can be a royal PIA and it doesn't always line up perfectly after removed...

It looks good, but now the upper part of the radiator is going to show.

IMO it doesn't look right when the radiator is exposed through the upper grille unless you spray paint that portion of it black. Nice upgrade though, the stock one is just plain ugly lol

phatchef: its 110 for the upper and bottom grille, add $30 for side vents, and $30 for powder coated gloss black. with shipping to hawaii it was about $190 total.

DarkBox8: yeah i got it on ebay, the removal of the grille really isnt so bad, just takes about 10 min to remove, when puttin it back on it honestly snaps right back into place. Just make sure everything lines up perfectly before screwing everything back in. Only about 14 total screws and 6 or 8 snap clip things for the whole bumper.

AAG: Youre right, you can see the upper part of the radiator and one of the painted panels above the radiator as well. Not very happy about that but I knew that was how it would look. I will try to think of some nice mods for it later on.
I will try to put up a pic of the grille & bumper installed so you can see exactly what it looks like. overall, im happy with it. Just got my rain guards today, gonna install that tomorrow as well. Thanks for all the comments guys, so far more good than bad, thats better than I expected!
Aloha

nah, I took it off, Im getting my airrunner kit installed in the next two or three weeks and as soon as thats done Im gonna install my five axis kit that just got finished getting painted. Cant wait till Im on bags!!!!!
and Im not exactly sure if it the first or not, but as far as I know, this will be the first bagged RS5, the first RS5 with a different bodykit, and if not either of those, It should be the first RS5 with both the five axis kit and bagged!!! lol

hell yeah man. the reason i took it off is cause someone banged my fender. put a small scratch on the kit, literally 3 inches long and not deep at all. I was going to change the kit anyway so I had them just order a new bumper. I can hook you up with a killer deal on the kit. only thing is im in hawaii, dont know how much shipping will be

Yeah, I went with AEM. They are pretty much the best imo and i dont like how the trd goes over the battery (kind of) the AEM one slides under the little passage between the battery and all the fuses, looks better i think. Oh, and the roar that comes from the engine bay when you pond it is so sick!!!

Thanks bro, you can get it without the side grilles, it actually cost extra to have the side grilles!!
Heres those pics with it on as promised. Some angles you can see through it like crazy, especially when the sun is shining directly on it. Im happy with it though

DAMN Dude! You got my all hot and bothered with the thought of side vent grills for the Kenstyle Kit. Then I noticed different kit. I really dislike the black tape on the Ken kit. Wish someone would make custom foglights to fit in the black tape area.

Nice grill mod though! Good choice.
