i painted the reflector and left the chrome piece chrome.

the paint was a glass spray paint i got at michaels. any craft store should carry it. i can't remember the name of it right now.

Being that blue and red are the colors to avoid in these cases, I'm almost certain I want to avoid those color schemes. Granted, the candy blue would look pretty good, but I don't want to risk it. I might have to photoshop a picture and find out what would suit the box the best.

My guess is that they'll still output very well, but will probably be tinted more of a yellow color. The OP said that the turn signals turned out to be slightly green after greening out his/her headlights.

OMG I love those head lights i own a 09 xB and the theme for my car is Green and White. I was trying to think
of quick easy mods to put on for the parade and I wish I had found that earlier that was a nice clean job btw

@randomsuper: I'd love you for long time if you'd tell me what paint you used on the housing.

lol. thanks will be good enough. for the black, i used 99 cent flat black spray paint from home depot. nothing special. as long as the surface is clean it'll stick. for the yellow i used krylon stained glass paint. again, just make sure the surface is clean. i used rubbing alcohol to clean mines then dried them with a microfiber towel to make sure there was no lint or anything on the chrome.

any craft store should have it so don't order online and save yourself a few bucks. one can is plenty. i used about a third of the can.

Thanks randomsuper. I was walking in a Michael's or whatever it's called and saw that Krylon Frost stuff, but I couldn't find it in yellow? Is that the color you used, or is it some funky yellow? I want to make sure that when I do paint it, the lights still work great in it. Also, how does the paint job effect your light output? I know that for low beams it won't matter, but how about your turn signals and high beams?

the color was plain old yellow and light output was not affected at all.
