Has anyone actually installed roof tracks themselves?
I searched around, I find a fair number of pictures on the web of Thule and Yakima track installs on the xB. Unfortunately, rarely is there a HOW, or documentation of the process on an xB specifically. A few threads there and there with not much resolution.
Has anyone actually installed the Thule or Yakima tracks themselves? Feedback on the process / results appreciated. I'm not afraid to tackle the job if I know specifically where to mount the tracks and drill the holes. If there were measurements available on where to mount the plus nuts, I'd be all set. I just don't want to drill in the wrong place, into a cross member or something. I haven't been able to find a pic of a 2nd gen xB with the headliner out to see if there is any place you want to avoid when drilling through the roof.
Thanks for any info. I just picked up my first xB, a manual 2009. This seems to be a really helpful forum, and I'm glad I found you guys.
