Default Headlight Question

I was wondering what the lights closest to the grill is called? The ones that flash when you set the alarm or go on when you go halfway on the headlight switch.

I want to install a white LED replacement, so what is the largest diameter that I can go? I would hate it if they wouldn't fit into the headlight.

Thanks much in advance, mike

From my motorcycle days I recall asking a few cops, turn signals have to light up amber, but the bulb/LED itself does not have to be amber in color. We used a variety of chrome colored bulbs/LED that lit up amber but were easier on the eyes.

thanks for all the responses!! but my question was sorta the dimemsions of the light itself. I would hate if I ordered the perfect light that wouldnt fit into the housing.

Also, these aren't for the indicators on the far ends of the lights. I am looking for the lights closest to the center. They flash when the alarm is set, along with the wing mirrors and the rear lights.

The autoillumination page is quite hard to navigate. Frankly, it seems like it was made by a first year computer science student.

thanks much, mike

dangit. i just realized those are the turn signals. i always thought that the orange reflectors on the side were the indicators.

i really like the idea of the dual color led but its expensive. are there any laws on a white colored turn signal? i see people changing to white rear signals around my area but is it legal?!

thanks, mike

spend the money and get the right bulb (dual color) save yourself the ticket in the long run first they get you for a white bulb then they start pulling tickets out of their **** to hassle you about

that seems like quite a strange requirement.

anyone install the 1157 dual color LED? i read something about it needing a load resistor? is that true or did i misunderstand?

thanks, mike

They need resistors. The LEDs don't draw as much power so your car thinks a bulb is blown.
