Default hid converter questions

hi. i have recently acquired a pair of 6000k hid bulbs free from a friend and i was wondering if i needed to run a converter kit or if i could just run the bulbs with stock harness. if not what is the worst that will happen. sorry i know nothing about hids. thanks

well you need two ballast to power up the bulbs and if you want you can run it on factory electric or the safe way is a relay.....but if you just got the bulbs itself you cant use then unless you have a ballast (2) to power them up

Yeah HID bulbs won't even connect to the factory headlamp plug. Different sizes. You need ballasts and the wires.

If your bulbs are really HID bulbs, you wil need a ballast for each bulb.
I just purchased a complete 6000K conversion kit from HIDEXTRA.com for $58.00 (reg. $75, I think) and they're nice.
My HID bulbs are long and skinny as opposed to the standard "fat" bulbs.
Hope this helps.

if they are packaged, are you sure they are not just aftermarket bulbs that say "HID look" on the front of them. The HID bulbs usually come in small tubes for each bulb. I wonder if you just got a normal set of bulbs that are brighter then the factory ones. What does the package say? What brand are they?
