Default How to take off black overlay

Did a search can't find anything, maybe I just suck at the search button here lol. Anyways can someone lead me to a thread that shows me how to safely take off the A pillar black overlay?

i believe he's talking about the outside of the car.. it's a black vinyl.

heat gun/hairdryer and alot of patience... that's really all you need.

Be prepared to remove a lot of adhesive residue after you peel the tape. Just remember... go slowly.

I started at the top, in my garage, and once a got a good hunk that could be held by a couple of fingers, I just pulled down at a sharp angle. Took me about 30 minutes to do both A pillars. No heat gun, no residue, was actually easy. Looks better too.

If your car's black, don't worry about it unless you're obsessing over it.

I found that letting the car sit in the noon day sun for about 30 minutes works great. Makes the vinyl just pliable enough to pull off without it getting brittle and shrinking from too much heat from a heat gun. If you want to spend the time you can also remove the trim around the window frames. It is much more of a pain as the vinyl actually wraps around the frame but looks great depending on your car color. Mine is super white so it makes a big difference in the looks, less with the darker colors.

For looks, you could take it off. For laziness, it's just that much less paint to wax.

I think just taking off the vinyl on the A-pillar looks a little weird. IMHO, it ruins the entire window line since there's another piece of vinyl on the B-pillar and there's a black outline on the top on bottom of every window (which gives the whole thing a nice elongated look). Plus, I just like the contrast it provides on my SW.

I do think when the vinyl is taken off of the A and B-pillars, it looks really sweet, especially on SW and you white out the mirror mount.
