Installed mine Sunday. I have to say it was a little harder than I expected. I probably scratched my hood under there towards the end as I was just frustrated at that point. I ended up having to trim the lower front portion, and some of the lower sides as well, with a razor blade to make it fit. I still have some slight bunching in the upper corners where it goes around the lights, but it looks ok. The trim part hides a lot of the imperfections and is really needed. I honestly think it looks really good on my super white. I am just wondering how it will hold up over time and if the bunched portions will allow water to get under there.

After all the trouble it was to get it on, there is no way in heck I am taking this thing off every month or after "heavy rain" which happens all the darn time here in MA, along with snow and crap in the winter. I could see taking it off every six months, but that is about it. With how it fits, there is really no way to take off and on all the time without scratching the crap out of the hood. If it holds up and does not mess up my hood, then it was worth the $. I'll try and get pictures with my wifes camera when I can.

If you waxed, i dont think itd scratch.

I put two coats, Meguiars cleaner wax, then NXT on top of that. Will do so every 3 months probably.

^I did wash and wax right before putting the bra on, but I don't know. I just went out to my car for something and the top corners on the front of the car (that go around the top of the headlights) are bubbling up and creating air pockets around each top corner on each side. I so don't want to screw with this thing anymore........I really feel this thing could have/should have fit better considering what it is.

Once I got it on just right, I went around the edges with one of the tint cutting knifes (small breakway blades) and trimmed her up right. Only small bubble I have, is the couple of spots where I have touchup paint on the nose, but ya cant see em unless you look real hard.

Why is everyone having trouble putting on these Magnet Bras? Mine took literally 5 minutes. And I didn't trim mine. I simply folded it around under the hood and then used the security trim to lock it onto the hood: no bubbling, no problems.

The trick is to take your time while you put it on. It's a magnet, so it's not as difficult as vinyl.

The edges, up by the top, that overlap can be tucked. I had edges in the curves that had to be trimmed. They dont tuck so well. Bra would be perfect to have 1/16" away from the edge all the way around, then let the trim do the rest. They need to work on their template little bit though.

Honestly, then you must have gotten lucky and got one made on a good day. I know mine simpy does not fit as well as it could/should for what it is. The curve of the hood needs to be taken in greater consideration by the manufacturer, imo. They also seem to need a greater level of quality control. I'm not saying it is a completly bad product, I just think for what it is (a giant refrigerator magnet) it could have been done better/more accurately in regards to the template and cut-outs.

My nose portion wasnt completely accurate with regards to the upper portion and the edges of the hood. I concur they need to work on the QC, but I like it. Maybe as more order, they will get better.

Bigger pics when I have camera available. Word to the wise with the security trim on, your eyelids look like they might be in the way. I don't have a pair but that was the first thing that came to mine when I saw the way the trim sat.

Couple of things here. I know just what Puredrive is talking about, I too had some small bubbles where the nose comes down by the headlights. However, that's where the hair dryer came in handy. Once the bra is heated up, it is very pliable and will lay flat, and stay flat when it cools. I also find that once warmed up, it stretches just a little bit. I also agree that the template they use needs some work. In some places it looks like they were cutting the bra and were like "all hell I've gotta go to the bathroom and that's close enough". I didn't have to trim any of the bra, just the trim, and I had significant extra along the sides of the hood, which the instructions say you will have, and to fold it under to keep everything snug. I too will be curious come winter time, but I'm not too concerned, as I use only use Collinite wax, and it's as hard as nails. I waxed once last year in July when I got the car, and still had water beading off this past spring when I claybarred and did it again.

Just got an email from the manufacturer, they have confirmed that it was cut wrong. So the have sent me another one. The company was very understanding and they responded quick to every email.

I will post pictures of the bra once it's on.

Sorry but this is not 1980 and I'd rather re-paint my hood every few years than use a bra...

Fred, cmon. This Magnet bra is sleek, it's nowhere near like what you are sarcastically referring too. I've already gotten several compliments from folks, a couple of which asked if they had one for their car. The way it sits flat on the hood, it looks very good. I'll agree regular bra's are fugly, but have a purpose. This one is in a whole nother league. And I'll gladly pay $50 for something that enhances the look, while keeping me from repainting.

Yes, they are the same. i emailed that question to the seller before I bought it for my '11. I love my magnet bra. The first time putting it on is definately the hardest. After that it gets much easier to put on. Can do it now in about ten minutes.

Be careful when removing the trim. On a few places on mine the thin top layer of the bra stuck to the trim a bit when pulling off. But you can't tell when the trim is put back on.

Follow up for me so far:
Took a trip this past weekend from CNY to Pittsburgh and back. Noticed at a stop along the way back, that there were bubbles popping up underneath the bra in the middle, and along the entire front. Maybe I didn't get it super tight when I installed it the first time? Who knows? At some point this week, I'll be taking it off and wash/wax the entire car and put it back on, see if that helps. I'm not upset, as it was probably the consistent 100+ mph speeds that had something to do with it.

Consistent 100+ mph speeds? And your car didn't overheat? That's pretty impressive.

You'd figure with all that heat that the interior plastic panels would melt. lol

If you apply the magnet bra with the appropriate methodical procedure, you shouldn't really have bubbling. The fastest I go in the xB is usually 70-75, so I cannot relate with regard to your speed.

It doesn't look too bad but it's just not my cup of tea. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so all that matters is that you like it.
