Default finally suited

I finally got it on. It looks way better in person. This time the fitment was right on. It took me no more the 15 mins to get it on.

Sorry bout the blurry images. I took it from my iphone.

Wonderful! I'm glad your new one came out great! Hopefully you'll love yours as much as I love mine.

Get rid of that Magnet Bra logo though! Oh, great, what have I started now? You might have to black out that Scion logo, too. lol

I had a factory nose cover (bra) on my 1G Eclipse and it looked great (included covers for the pop-up headlights), but it did dull the paint some if just left on. My original got damaged and I bought another, but it's still in the box. The nose got repainted and I decided I didn't want to muss it again, but it really does look great on the car -- super sporty and aggressive.

Looks great ! I'm interested in hearing how it works out over a little time.

I'm rocking a Magnet Bra. It's the best looking car bra I have ever seen and was totally worth the small price. I couldn't believe that it was about $50.

The bra itself is a magnetic layer that you set on your hood. Then there's a trim that you place around the edges of the bra that locks it onto your hood and prevents people from stealing it. The trim brings it out.

So far, it has held up extremely well. I do a lot of highway driving, and the bra has not chipped at all. The luster is fine, too. I've only had it for about 1-2 months, though, so maybe I can report in some time later after it has been worn for a while.

I highly recommend a Magnet Bra.

Does it just peel off? Like... someone could just pass by and take it???

I most buy one! My hood and windshield has the most chips of any car I ever had, mostly from driving on highway after it has snowed from rock salt.

The Magnet Bra comes with a security strip to prevent it from being stolen.

The idea is simple enough:

The first part is a physical magnet that you put over the front part of the metal hood. Naturally, it is magnetic, so it attaches to the metal. Your job is to seal it to the hood without any bubbles and so forth. For my job, I just used the Florida sun and evened it out on there nicely. I have one bubble, but who cares? When I reapply it (I remove mine every 6 months), I'll address that bubble.

The second part is a security strip that you use to seal it onto the hood. Take a look in that picture that you quoted from me and look at the black trim around the magnet bra. That fits onto the edges of the hood, meaning the part facing us is exposed and the other part is under the hood. This locks it into place. And because the hood is securely latched and locked, no one can steal it unless they physically damage it.

However, the seal is so tight that it looks almost like vinyl. Upon closer inspection, you can later tell that it is not.

okay im wanting to get this because my xB has a slight dent in the nose (there when I bought it) and I think this would cover up nicely. Plus, with my black a-pillars, i think this will look really nice. I may get bombed for saying this but can any one comment on how it holds up going though a carwash? i know, I normally wash by hand but in the winter time when it gets salty I occasionally run in though the brushless carwash.

i had got a dent in my hood when a damn semi carrying a load of rocks was in front of me and let some fly out. forgot i had that dent until i put the magnet bra on. you can see the dent but its not a big eye sore, only if you really look for it, other than that im happy with the bra, next thing is the front bumper overlay

While I can't speak for how it holds up in the auto car wash, I can however suggest not trying it to find out. In the instructions that come with the magnetbra they tell you to take it off periodically to clean underneath it, including after a heavy rain storm. To me, an auto car wash would act pretty similarly to a heavy rain storm, or use even more force. I would think it would actually push more dirt under the bra, scratching the hell out of the paint. Not to mention I can't imagine the hot air dryer would do you any favors either. Not really an answer to your question, I know haha.

I've ran my car through several car washes and there has been no damage to the magnet bra.

Once February rolls around and it starts to get warmer in Jacksonville, I'm going to strip it and polish it up under there as well as investigate the paint for any abrasions.

Yeah, you may be fine? Personally I've only washed my car by hand and wouldn't feel comfortable going through an automatic wash. That's just me though. Have you checked under your bra yet or you're waiting till Feb. for the first time?

the automatic car washes here in vegas are crap, they have those swinging cloth thingies, although those are meant to not scratch the car its all the dirt that stuck on them that would do the damage... only hand wash for me.

I'm waiting for the first time. (Ha ha, that's what she didn't say!)

I would wash my xB by hand, but I'm just way too busy.

BUMP

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I will be peeling the Magnet Bra off in February in order to assess the condition of the bra as well as inspect the paint underneath it.

6 months have passed since the last time I have peeled it off, and this will determine whether or not it is a quality product like I have been touting for the past 6 pages of this thread.

The fitment will probably be off. The new 2011's have new headlights that are shaped a little different from the 2008-2010 models.

You might want to shoot them an E-Mail just to confirm. The template they use to cut the magnet bra is usually slightly oversized in order to allow you to crop it for the most appropriate fit. By extension, you might be able to utilize the original template for your new xB.

Do the bra. I thought about doing vinyl, but let me tell you, I've got Bat's Bumper Overlay and that thing is already shredded.

I've had my bra for so long now without any damages. Plus, I DID peel it off back in February to investigate under the hood and it was perfectly fine.
