So I have seen a number of folks, or at least a couple, making the center of the front bumper black. My xB goes in a week from today for the invisible bra and wanted to know what y'all think of doing the same to my box. Here is a photoshop of my xB with what it may look like.

I don't think it looks that great on the Silver. Oddly though, looks good on white. It's best suited to a darker color.

I think part of the reason the mockup looks weird is that it is flat black. If you do decide to go black in the center I would do a high gloss. I think the suggestion of a glossy graphite or gunmetal gray would give you the same effect but blend in a bit better.

Okay, seems like the first five replies are unanimous. I also switched 'clear bra' installers today as the new one is slightly cheaper, but more importantly has an excellent reputation around as "the guy" to do it. He is also not a fan from his installer/experienced graphic guy stand point. It will not be...

Here's a thought. Get the clear bra installed, THEN put vinyl over it. You could experiment with various colors and finishes that way without messing up your bra.

For the record, I like your chop, but it could look vastly different in person.

I posted a pic up on the vinyl or paint thread of my silver xB with it painted high gloss black. Hope that will help you with your decision.

Man I'm not gonna do this to mine anymore! Seems like everyone is doing it. For silver, I'd got with gray or charcoal.

I don't know what's behind that piece but I suspect that a nice one-piece chrome or stainless (goldtone for the Blackberry Crush) grill from top to bottom would really make the face stand out.

it looks like too many people are painting the middle black, time to find something more original. props to the people that first did it.

At the very least it will set you apart from the 55 and older group that also loves the xB!

Why not forget the MantaRay mouth and put two large blackberry crush racing stripes across the thing from nose to tail (not centered)? That would be really original on an xb2. Haven't seen that yet. You could even have the grill/grills done in matching color
