Paint peeling from 5 Axis Front lip- Did the Dealer prime i
I have huge hunks of paint chipping/ peeling from the bottom of my 5Axis kit - front lip. How could l I tell if the &^%$ Dealership primed the surface of the lip before painting?

Most paint shops use a gray primer coat (if they primered). you should be able to see on the back side of the peeling paint the gray primer or some sort of sign of primer. If it is peeling fast or if you can peel the paint off with your finger nail then they most likely did not primer it.
My fiance used to have a cheap @$$ 97 neon and from the factory they just painted the car to the bare metal w/ no primer. the paint would chip and peel easy and once it started to chip i was able to peel the paint off with just my finger nail.

It will be under warranty if you bought it new at time of purchase. So before you get your panties all bunched up. Take it in there. Ive seen a few where the front lip has twisted down the road and lifted. We took care of it no problem.
here is the deal on this situation..
The dealership prob sent it to the cheapest place to get painted..
They didnt use the right paint and process in painting this type of matrial..
IF they Followed Troys instructions it would have never pealed.. I have had my kit since the car came out and painted it myself..
first they have to sand it with 320 grit on top of that wash it really good with warm soap water..
than use special paint and primer..
And Follow the paint instruction of the brand paint.. and when it says to flash between coats for 2 hours dont short cut that..
1 Adhession Promoter
2 Hig Adhision flex primer with Flex Additve
3 Base Coat
4 Flex Clear with Flex Additive
I have painted other kits and no pealing
the bad thing is that in order to coorect that problem.. the kit is going to have to be stripped bare and the right process used from Bare Plasitc. IF you paint over whats on there rightnow it will only peal again.
Sorry to here about this man.. I just hate it when people take short cuts and look for cheap.. its sad that you know that the dealership was there just to make a quick buck..
IF you pay for Cheap you get Cheap..
So just take what i told you back to the dealership and ask them to do it right.. or ask for a refund and take it to a good body shop
