Is this kit a truly plug and play like scion states. Were there any moding that needed to be done?

No, looks like we have to take it to the muffler shop to adjust the muffler. It is not plug and play like they are saying, I called 5axis they are not sure what the problem is. Take a look at the pictures.

Depending on aftermarket exhaust, this is most critical w/ the TRD stuff.

Ill let you know wheni install mines..Im not using the TRD exh.. but think it might be the Exh that might be the problem. I remember with the 1st gens there was issues with the Stock Exh not being centered.

From looking at your pics it a pretty easy fix. To get the tip to move more into the center just bend the mounts on teh exh so that it pulls it more to the passenger side.

I cant believe the kits dont come painted from the wharehouse! The tC lip kits do. Trying to gaurantee quality and customer satisfaction becomes much more difficult if the painting is put on the installing dealer. Bad move by Scion in my opinion. Good luck getting them painted and fitted. I hope it comes out awesome!

Its not a factory toyota Item. Its aftermarket and made by Five Axis. It has a Five Axis PArt number and box it comes in is taged Fiave Axis. You have to buy this kit through Optimize in which they sell aftermaket items for teh scions.

IF it was a toyota Item with part number it would have came prob. color matched to the car. BUt when you buy replacement bumpers and what not it normally come unpainteed

I know all about Optimize. I helped put the initial launch product line together with Scion Corporate. And I know all about FiveAxis. Troy Sumitomo (pres of fiveaxis) is a good friend of our club. Im just saying if Toyota wants to legitimize their "aftermarket" support with Optimize, they should make it as easy as possible for the end customers. I would have liked to see the kit come pre-painted. I know body kits dont come that way in the normal aftermarket world, but I think Toyota could have stepped it up. Optimize has missed the mark since its inception because the majority of the people who put it together don't actually understand the market. This is just one more example of this situation. I told the creators the same thing two years ago....

I thought Scion said the 5-Axis kit would be an option when you bought the new xB. When did this change? Or haven't they gotten around to doing that yet? Like with the supercharger which was also supposed to be an option.

i had mine installed yesterday... and there are fitting problems in the front and the back... the whole kit is bent because of it. i'm hoping they will be able to correct the problem, but for now there is a noticeable fitting problem, thought the TRD exhaust i have fits fine.

why didnt your body shop test fit first?..

one thing you have to remember is the its Poloyurethene and it bends easy.

i think they bent it somehow in the painting process, because it seems to fit ok on all sides. i just thought it might have been pulling, but now it seems like there is an actual bend in the material

Did you just use plain 'ol tape to test fit them? I'll be doing the install but sending it out to get painted.
