(PICS) Bat's Front Bumper Overlay!
Hey Bat - your bumper overlay was difficult as hell to put on, but SOOOOOO worth it in the end. It wasn't too bad because it was my first time putting vinyl on a car, but it came out great.
I'm waiting for it to stop raining so I can wash my car and post up some pictures.

Bat ;)
ok so im ready to go. i trimmed my liscene plate holes. so its almost flush. got a hair dryer on deck. Anyother tips you guys can supply me with? metallic blue vinyl to bsp. never done it before and i know imma mess it up somehow.
Do you have soap and water? And a little patience, it took about an hour to do mine in colder weather. Hopefully since it's warmer now it won't take you that long. It's gonna take some time to get used to the blue on black. I still not used to the red one I put on.
yea i am a little nervous about how its gonna look. it might be too much... i really hope its not though.
an hour?? shoot i might have my friend help. i never done anything like this

Damn! Some @55wipe swiped my vinyl and shredded it.
The worst part is that I didn't even have it on for 2 months yet.
Consider how much of a pain in the butt it was to put on, I think I'm going to have to order one and pay a pro to do it for me.

Use the clay bar to remove any wax/contaminants from the paint surface before you apply the vinyl. If you do not clay bar the area, you'll get millions of bumps everywhere. And it's unattractive.
I've heard lots of mixed things about using a clay bar, but overall some sources told me to clay bar maybe twice a year. They allege that you're stripping away contaminants, and that after clay bar, you re-wax your car.
But then I've heard about it stripping away your clear coat.
In the case of your bumper overlay, you should be okay using it on there to ensure you have a nice, clean looking vinyl when it's seated.

I'm going to have to order another one from Bat because mine is shredded. And after the hassle of dealing with it, I'd rather pay a tint shop to seat it for me.
