HAHA... I can totally understand. I installed mine as a first and was actually really surprised how well it turned out. But I can also see how a newb can totally foul this up. Did you use a soap, water, and a blow dryer? The key is to work one section at a time.

Should the overlay starts at the center towards the top and bottom and sides? Also, I wonder how you guys trim the excess piece using razor knife without scratching the paint?

I had these exact concerns too before I installed mine... What worked for me was starting from the top half middle. Then I worked my way to finish 80% of the top half leaving the 10% on the sides unfinished. Then I worked on the center of the bottom half doing the same thing. When I got to trimming the sides, I still had a decent amount over hanging the sides. I then took a razor blade and started a tear at the top, and then ran the razor blade as if I was running a scissor and gliding it to cut some gifting wrapping paper. So in other words, I didn't have the blade touch the paint. I hope that makes sense.

I owe you pics Bat™. My cousin ran off with my SLR and I have no other camera. As soon as he returns it, I'll get some pics up. Anyways, I hope I didn't scare anyone off installing this thing. I wouldn't call it easy, but I definitely think it's doable for a first timer.

My finance got her camera back so I was finally able to snap some pics... Here's one I got of the overlay... Like I said, it's pretty subtle but it does its job protecting the front bumper from rock chips...

If you look closely, I didn't get a chance to overlay the tow covers yet, but Batman's excellent service did ship me some additional pieces to get them done. As you can see, it's really subtle, but I like it a lot. Since I already have the 3M clear bra + Batman's overlay, I don't have a single rock chip on my XB yet (knock on wood). If I have time this weekend, I'll try to finish the whole project up and snap a couple more for you guys...

They come in any color you want. As long as he has that color vinyl. But I know for sure he has gloss black too.
