Default Recommendation for a good, legal replacement headlight?

Hi All -

Please forgive me if this information already exists on this site, but I haven't found it yet.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement headlight and/or bulb? I have both a 2006 xB and a 2008 xD.

Thanks!

RoboX, I apologize, but I see that I failed to say that I want a DOT-approved headlight, bulb. It appears that PIAA bulbs are not:

I apologize for having been ambiguous.

Thanks for your recommendation, anyway. I'm sure it will useful for others.

first youre reading the wrong part. there lamp are not legal. but there bulbs are. But you have projectors itll have a cut off line that doest scatter the lights. no one in there right might will give you a hard time about it. 1 of every 4 scions on this forum has aftermarket hid. i personaly have hid in my fog lights as well. aftermarket hid are 100% illegal but no one gets a hard time about them unless they start gettin the extreme blue or purple colored lights. id say youre good the with piaas. there not extremely bright but there a very nice white color with non of that yellow in it. or you can get there extreme plasma white what are about 4300k the link i showed you were 4700k

yeah thats a good deal my friend paid 100$ shipped for his set (he has a 07 tundra with the same size bulb as us) piaa is an awsome company they will last just a long an oem bulbs. i had the piaa extreme white 4300 in my car before i got the hids i also placed his 4700 in my car to see what they look like. if i didnt get the hid i would have gotten the 4700 for sure. every car ive owned and pretty much all of my friends with non hid uses piaas

So why did you get HID's instead of just using the PIAS whats the advantage?

I wanted a bluer color light and with halogen bulbs the more blue the less output it gives. The piaa 4700 gave a slight blue but not enough for me. Theres a reason why they are so spendy. And to me if I get hasseled enough with the cops for the hid I'm getting a set of those 4700

dang you two black nosed super whites are confusing me with your profile pics!
i talked to a small auto accessories store in japantown today and they said PIAA is the top brand in japan. so i guess they are the japanese sylvannia.

also, there really is no equilvalent to the 6000K HID color. i found a PIAA 6000K and it really didnt match my HIDs so i settled on a PIAA 4500K bulb for its white color

so if you wanted a white color with a hint of blue like the prius's color or maybe a little bluer you might as well just go with the PIAA's right?

yup if you wanna be legal with blue go with the piaa 4700. If you want a more white go with the piaa 4300. If you wanna go way blue get some hid (aftermarket hid are NOT legal but you can get away with it.

These won't melt the inside of my projectors will they?

I'm thinking about getting a set of the PIAAs, but I don't want to melt my headlight housing
