Default Side mirror covers - anyone paint black to match windows?

Has anyone painted the top of their mirror covers so that the side mirror is all black? If so, would you mind posting a pic, I have been debating on whether this will look good and just wanted to see if it had already been done...

Show us a pic of ur xb and ill gladly photoshop something.

One guy locally had his mirror covers wrapped in a black gloss vinyl. IMO thats tacky because their small pieces it wont cost much for a local shop to paint.

Kinda quick and dirty but should give you an idea.

I kind of like it on the SW.

If you paint the mirrors black, you definitely need to tint the mirror turn signals also.

IMO this would look great on SW or CSM as long as NONE of the window tape or A-pillar tape has been removed, but I wouldn't do it to any of the other colors. I think it would also be preferable to have the front windows tinted also, to compliment all the black at that level of the body line.

Most likely going to tint the blinker part and it should dull out a little bit over time.

no matter what, you sand it

hit it 1000 until you see the orange peel and no too many chiny's

as far as the paint goes, use whatever flat black you want paints paint if you're rattlecanning it, but my advice is to prep them yourself and let a body shop hit it with a gun and some real paint.

ive been checking this thread for a while for more updates, and got sick of waiting so i thought i would give this a try myself. yesterday i bought some satin black vinyl to try and wrap the mirror covers. didnt work. im not sure if it was the type of vinyl or what so i scrapped that idea.
today i went to the local hardware store and picked up a can of Krylon Fusion satin black finish.this stuff is awesome because there is no sanding or priming necessary. im on my third coat now because i want a nice thick finish and i have some minor chips/ scratches that its filling.

Just waiting for my last coat to dry, then pics will be up

ps.. i have a classic silver as well

Don't care what they sold you with, prep is always the best way to go~

Lets see how they look finished though so people can get the idea
