I have an 08 xB and was wondering what brand and percentage of tint is best used to match the factory rear tint.

 

Search is your friend... not trying to be a smarta$$, just way too much info to try and give you one link.

 

I did 35% rear and 20% front, works well for me. I'll get pics up soon.

Putting ANY tint on the front windows in California is not legal, so be forewarned, or be willing to deal with tickets depending on where you live.

the rear windows are 28% colored glass. If you wanna match (or come real close) put 35% tint up front. Since the fronts are not perfectly clear it'll bring the total to 27%.

Yeah I agree with Whispaz. I have 35% up front and it's pretty darn close to matching. Don't know what brand it is though. But most reputable tint shops use good stuff.

ok, here is mine. Limo all the way around over the rear factory tent. Then 20% over the limo on the front doors. The windshield is 20% also. You can not see in the xB at all.

as for the tint, I dont know what brand it was. i got it done at a local tint shop. I do, however, wish i did know to let you guys know which not to get :D
the only thing i dont like about mine is that it has a little bitof a blue-ish tint to it. Not to noticable but I wanted a closer match to everything else

 

we use 30% on the gen2 xb, and it matches perfectly. i'll try and snap some pics tonight and put them up.

 

They look very well matched, at least to me and everyone else thus far in person, not sure if it can be appreciated from the pics.

Within the first 24 hours I had tints, alarm and 4300K HID's, sunroof was installed prior to delivery to avoid that downtime. I'm waiting on back ordered items for the audio equipment installation, but will most likely at least get the sound deadening done soon.

35% rear, 20% front. After years of using 5% I had to go lighter in the xB, I found the cabin to be lacking in letting in light, even with a sunroof.

 

I think we put 50% on the front doors and 35% on the rest of it. It doesn't look tinted at a glance, but the film keeps the heat out and the sun off of my wife. I think she'd like it darker, but I can stand to avoid any local "entanglemtns" if you know what I mean. California sucks sometimes.

Depending on what state you are in, tinting the fronts can mean very different issues! Here in VA, the legal limit on front windows is 35% The back windows on mine came tinted, and I believe it is in the range of 15-20% since I have 20% suntek carbon on the front windows and it is still a tad bit lighter than the rear. Going darker is definitely what would end up getting me some tickets!
