Guys,
On my 2012 xB, I wanted to change daytime running light from yellow to white (something of the same color temperature as the low beam projector style). I did not want something that would look bluish. I have ordered Nokya 9005/HB3 65w (NOK7811). Color temperature is 3100K. You guys think it would look white enough? Whats the color temperature on the factory daytime running bulb?

 

The low beams are no whiter than the DRL/high beam bulbs. The reason it looks more yellow is because it's on low power in DRL mode. It looks whiter in the projector because of optics and it being on full power.

 

oh s#it, I did not know about that. So the DRL (or high beam) bulb is same as low beam? same color temperature rating?

What should I do? What kind of bulb should I get that would look white for daytime running light?

 

if you want the amber light to be white you can get the LED bulbs from LEDMOD.com. they are white while driving and flash amber when you turn.

I dont want to mess with turning bulb. I want to change DRL (or high beam) bulb.

 

I changed my order and got NOK7411 7000K instead. This would definitely be white enough for DRL!
