Smile Cold air or Short ram intake? Need advice

Hi everyone, i was looking into getting an intake system for my stock 2012 Scion XB. Its manual and im not sure what brands/type of intake would be the best for my intentions. Should i get a short ram or full intake? what brands are good and would still be under $300 or so? do i even need to spend that much? Any advise/tips/recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Why not just get one of these??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/08-12-SCION-...411f87&vxp=mtr
Its a Cold air intake, but if you want to switch to short-ram, just remove the bumper extension pipe and mount the filter to the first pipe. I have a similar ebay CAI and it works perfectly. No reason to blow $300 on something that will do no better than a sub $100 kit.

sweet, thanks for the reply!!!! i was looking at a similar one http://www.protuninglab.com/08scxb24...id=18283950120

its obviously a little more expensive but i noticed the filter was a little bigger. do you you think it really matters? and also it says adds HP and TQ. is it true or is it just some bs??

Man I made a ram air intake from filter and tube from pepboys for 30 bucks and it works better than my buddy's k&n set up lol. Best part is since my filter is up high and the tube only goes through the front of the filter, I have no problems driving in sun or heavy rain. Good luck

That looks exactly like the k2motors CAI kit that I have. Same filter too, it will work perfectly.

Ive had stock, TRD, weapon r short ram and now an AEM. I liked the AEM and TRD best.. Short ram was up in too much hot air IMO. CAI isnt as easy to service though...
