FWIW -- I installed a length of 3" flexible dryer duct from the OE airbox interior into the left fender with a flare at the end to reduce turbulence. I then wrapped the duct with insulating tape and installed a gravity flap inside the airbox to provide water protection (instead of sucking water, the flap will open). Last step was the TRD inlet. Cheap and safe, but I've no dyno numbers !

PS. Also removed the airbox carbon filter and replaced the OE air filter with a TRD.
