So the intake is pretty amazing I love the sound and the extra power. I need the work on adjusting it a little so the filter is more center in the heat shield. Yeah I know it may be a little over the top to have it repowder coated just for asthetics but what can I say I want it just right. I want to do an exhaust next magnaflow or the single borla are my top picks.

I received my K&N Typhoon 69-8613 from Amazon $232.05-shipped on the 5th but last weekend turned into work on-call from Hell. So yesterday, in she went...

At this point, I installed a TRD Quick Shifter ($116 @ TRDSparks) because the relevant transmission cables and brackets are below and behind the airbox.

I removed my battery for better access because of my strut tower brace. There's a PITA connection directly underneath where you have upward-bolt a little L-bracket (to re-mount the EVAP solenoid valve) through the driver-side end of a K&N brace (other end mounts to fuel rail bolt on block) into the underside of the SRI tube.

All that left is to reinstall engine cover

...and store away the leftover OEM parts.

In a short test drive, throttle response is much improved and, while it's only spec'd as a ~35% reduction in throw, the quickshifter makes it feel like half.
I LIKE BOTH VERY MUCH !!

GDubya you should re-install those clips on your valve cover breather hose just so you don't get any air leaks.

Thanks for helping me avoid that oversight, horsefeathers; it was freakin humid out during the installation and I was rushing for a cool shower.
I added the wire clamps and re-used the OEM foam sleeve to stiffen the bend radius in the thinner-walled K&N tube.
Back in spirited weekday across-town commuting, I really like the SRI's improved throttle response!

Now to maybe help that growl and improve exhaust velocity with a pipe...
