Ive come to learn today that my power steering motor may be blown on my 2008 xb, I have but 2 questions about this wildly expensive repair. #1 have there been any reports of issues with these, as thay are a fairly new technology? #2 would this be covered under the powertrain warranty? any input would be appreciated.

 

how many miles are on your car and are there any mods?
i would say this is a defect should be replaced

 

There is 49k on the car and I have a have a remote start/alarm system on it, Im assuming that im pretty much screwed..

 

How do you know it's blown? Is it leaking fluid?

 

I dont think there is any fluid, isnt it an electric system? I had a reliable gas station mechanic diagnos it.

What makes you think its blown, is it hard to steer?

 

Ill prob be extending my warranty at 36k miles, and the new steering setup is cause. Is it not covered under the 60k powertrain, or is that only engine and transmission?
