Default Scion xB Transmission problem..

Hello everyone, sorry in advance for my English, I usually speak French.
I recently had transmission problems with my 2015 Scion xB.

When Reversing, the vehicle does not want to cooperate.

What should I do?

And is it automatic or manual transmission? If it’s automatic, check your fluid level. If that’s okay, the. Look in to replacing your shift solenoid for reverse.

Thank you for your reply. My oil level is good, but I am told to change the oil because it is a little dirty. Hope this fixes my problem. When I went to the garage they told me that transmission problems are usually very expensive, due to the labor. They told me that if the oil change didn't help my problem, I was going to have to replace my complete transmission. I also did not have a diagnosis. I thought I could have an estimate that would tell me what repairs to do ... I will change the garage I think. thank you

very odd, these transmissions are very reliable.

Problems are typically electronic.

Switches in shifter mechanism is 1st test as they tell ECU what position shifter's in.

Then solenoids in transmission does actual shifting that ECU commands.

I bought this used car last October. So it's only been eight months since I have it. If it's an electronics problem, what will be the thing to look for to find out the cause of the transmission problem?

Test switches at shifter.
Test solenoids, these usually only need cleaning. Replace if they fail test.
