Default TRD Cold Air Intake Write-up

Well, was not too bad of an Install. Following the TRD instructions, as well as some guesswork, made it pretty quick. Entire job took me 2.5 hours, and that is putting the tools away and taking out the trash.

Just got back from a spin, and I can say I'm impressed with the sound. This thing roars (I do not have an exhaust yet, so it's very loud over the car) so much, you can feel it in the floorboard and steering wheel.
When you give it a lot of gas from a standstill, once it spins up a bit, it just howls. Good job TRD on a quality product.

Installing my Borla exhaust tomorrow (hopefully), so I'll try and write on it.

Was really a PITA getting the cover and filter clipped on. It has hinges at the top you have to hook in to, then the bottom clips

Battery in (getting Negative not to interfere with the tube was a PITA too)

Videos are in posts 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 (be sure to click play at bottom left, not on screen).

Your kit should have included a red TRD on chrome-like background for the tube. Here's mine that I installed last week:

Hehe. Its more just looking at the small picture and guessing which way something is supposed to sit

Well damn! Guess they shorted me. I stuck the TRD CARB thing to the tube, and ordered a nice TRD emblem last night. Gonna put that on the back liftgate.

I need to order the TRD oil filler cap

You should contact the dealer that sold you the CAI and tell then they owe you a TRD sticker. It's supposed to come with one. You paid good money for a genuine TRD CAI, and it should say TRD on it.

Uh oh, I bought mine from Sparks too, and they already messed up this order once.

Huh. I wonder if they are having some issues. Last week they sent me what was supposed to be the UPPER billet grille, but they sent me the lower. Same price, so I went ahead and installed it, but sheesh.

I've never bought anything from TRDSparks. So, I can't comment on the quality of their service. They do have a very good reputation on this, and other, Scion forums. So, hopefully they will make good and get you your missing TRD decal.

I bought my TRD CAI from Don Jacobs Toyota, also known as www.scionpartsmall.com

Their price was $275.40. I also got the TRD front strut brace ($159.00), the TRD fog lights ($165.44) and the TRD aluminum oil filler cap ($33.15). Shipping for everything was a very reasonable $14.87.

It took 10 days from order to delivery and 6 or 7 of that was UPS ground shipping from Wisconsin to Oregon. When I placed my order, they sent me an email that said not everything I ordered was in stock. So, it took them a couple days to get everything from Toyota and then the parts were on the UPS truck headed cross country. All-in-all, I was very pleased with their service, and even more pleased with their prices. If I need any more TRD parts, I'll definitely use them again in the future.
