2 Attachment(s)
Well i finaly went to they dyno today. i felt out of place as i was the only toyota in gang of hondas lol. Dyno is a Mustang Dynamometer.
Mods: Weapon R Header Weapon R S-Pipe Tenzo R Intake Strup Cat-Back Still have stock scuba tank. Video link at bottom! Came in at: WHP 148 fT-Lbs 154 not to bad. did about 10 runs and they were all around that + or - 1-2hp. Attachment 57714 Attachment 57715 Video link http://youtu.be/B02gTqI7nBU |
Please excuse, but are these numbers wheel or flywheel? I looked at the printout, but if it's there, I didn't spot it.
|
sorry i thought i put wheel on there. but it is Wheel NOT flywheel
|
Got it, thanks! Can't say I've a lot of experience with this, but given it's an auto, those numbers seem pretty good :)!
|
thats what i thought! another auto in here with the same mods and the unichip made less than what i just made so that made me happy. plus i herd the mustang dyno reads low but owell. i should put a lsit of dyno results togather...sorry about spelling
|
No sweat and good job :)!
|
Good #'s for an auto.
|
after looking at looks like the avg stock auto is 125. so im at 148whp. thats 23whp! i think thats good for bolt ons anyway. total it cost about 900 i would say. all in all i am now on par with a stock 5 speed lol

You may only have stock 5 speed whp but that's enough to beat one in a drag race. :) Import Tuner link: http://www.importtuner.com/powerpage...rs5/index.html |
That RS5 is an auto right?. My next plans are nst pulleys and unichip. After that maybe higher a compression ratio
|
Yes, the RS 5 they tested was an auto. After running the NST under-drive crank pulley for over a year I highly recommend it. It may only free up 2-3whp but every little bit helps. Lightweight pulleys may help the engine rev a little faster but it's highly unlikely that they could add any measurable increase in hp or tq. Elwaylite dyno tested his car with the Unichip and gained 5whp.
For ideas you should check out what some of the TC guys are doing for N/A builds. A few of them have acheived 200whp. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=198497 BTW, your video link is to a jpg image. |
lol thanks for pointing out the link i just fixed it. and yea i been looking at the tc threads a lot. my grand planes are turbo+tranny build once the car is paid off. an extra 500 a month adds up!!
|
If your ultimate plans are turbo, forget about raising compression. Just save up $4000 and you could be quicker than any 200whp 2AZ-FE N/A build, most Lexus, infiniti, MB, BMW, Acura, VW or Hyundai "sport" models. Realistically, a turbo + tranny build will cost you $10k and you'll only be slightly quicker than the $4000 build.
The beauty of this approach is that if you win the lottery or whatever, you can get the $4000-5000 built tranny and torque converter and simply raise the boost. Feel free to PM with any questions. |
i understand the 10k. but i like to tinker with all my toys and my turbo, tranny planes are way down the road. i would probly build tranny first then turbo anyway. i have followed most of your threads on your build snf they help a lot for us auto guys.

I'm also a little skeptical of built trans. How much extra tq can a FWD AT designed for 240ft lbs max really be made to handle with a valve body upgrade and more clutches? I've also heard bad things about built Toyota AT's from P-Tuning, URD and several TC owners who've since swapped to MT's. Talk to IPT, Level Ten, TC guys, etc. and decide if it's worth it to you. Good luck with it whatever you decide and thanks again for taking the time to dyno test your XB. I look forward to future updates on your "tinkering". :) |
Curious as to what size wheels and tires you're running, they look good!

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but how could a test like this possibly measure anything BUT wheel horsepower?
