greddy owes something like $40 million.... sad..

i saw this kit in person in march and it looked pretty clean.. but i think we have to wait to see if they are willing to make it CARB-legal also.. always loved greddy cause so much of thier stuff was CARB-legal..

Greddy is ok if you are planning to run 6-8 lbs of boost. Definetely go Dezod, turbo toyotas or custom if you want to make alot of power.

it's not all about power. cost and reliability are 2 very important factors. also alot of power is only part of the equation. if you aren't planning to really race the vehicle, then i see no point in building a pseudo track car with absurd power. for myself and a lot of other xb owners, it's not about beating down other cars. it's about being able to enjoy the car, be faster than stock, and not have to spend every weekend wrenching.

i think that's the allure of a greddy kit. you get a great off the shelf kit, very little headaches in the long run compared to what other guys offer, and a proven record of performance.

You obviously haven't dealt with a greddy kit. Reliable isn't the best word to describe their kits. More of a hit or miss with them. I had a friend who had one on his civic and it ran great. I've seen other threads on other forums where greddy kits were nothing but problems (RSX-s) and even some that caught fire because of a bad oil line design.

honestly, i haven't dealt with a kit on a scion personally. i've used greddy parts on my rx-7 and they were phenomenal, but this was years ago. now from what i've read here on sl in regards to the xa, xb, and tc, the response has generally been positive. biggest complaint was typically not enough power.

when i talked to the greddy "rep" at HIN in march they said it would be out august... they told me it was light boost and put down something like 275. not much but you pay for reliability and in most cases CARB approval..

as for the reliablity i think it also depends on the car.. the RSX-S has a tight header area and it does get super hot back there so i wouldnt be surprised if there was some problems if they didnt vent the hood or anything..

I just talked to the greddy rep., about the prototype TDG05H-18g bolt on turbo kit. they said that this kit has been tested, unfortunately there is not enough demand for this kit, and will not be mass produced..

I'd buy one if it was under $3k but I doubt that would happen.
