Default It Has Begun.........LSD HELP!!!!!!!!

Today I went to my local shop and spent the day preparing for the turbo manifold. They took measurments and will be building it in the next couple of weeks. I have chose a ram horn manifold with a t3 flange. They said we have a lot of room to work with so it will not be a problem.

Thursday I am going to have my return fuel system installed along with som other goodies...................................

The Girl:

Also, here is some other parts I have laying around that will be installed later on.........................

I would be interested in knowing how difficult it is to install the Limited Slip Dif and how long it takes in the new xB's.

Ok we ran into a problem installing the fuel system. The only way for us to do the return fuel system is if we run a new lead. The problem with that is there is not a lot of room and it will be toooooo much time and money................................

Now on to the LSD, Clutch, and Flywheel. Called TRD Sparks the other day and they confirmed with me that they will all fit the xB without any problems. So in about 2 weeks the car will go down to the shop.........................

More to come......................................

Got a call from the shop today and they told me the worst thing ever. After a couple of hours of work they ran into a problem. A special tool is needed to pull the nuts off the CV shafts..........................

This tool is a tool that Toyota dose not sell and will not let anyone use.............................

I HATE YOU TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I leave for Las Vegas in three weeks and I guess I will not have this done before then...............................................

The shop is trying to figure out something...........

That must be something new for the 08 xB's. That sucks since scion is all about upgrading, modding, making it yours but I guess it's only ok as long as they get paid for the labor.

I'm sure there's someone who can get a hold of the tool.

I think I would check with other dealers and verify that in fact a special tool is needed. If in fact a special tool is needed I am sure if you checked around you could get one. The first thing is to get the tool part number. It may be listed with the instructions on installing the LS Dif. A lot of the special tool are made available to the public and racers. Some dealers like to keep the customer having to depend on them for all their work. It is even possible that Snap-On Tools may have a tool for that. Something that may be worth trying to get is a factory service manual once they become available.

This style manifold your looking to make? I had this one fab up for my tC. I'll post pics once its ceramic coated and installed. From this angle it doesnt look like a ram horn but from a front view it does.

Ok, I am lost on the return fuel system advantages. I thought it was a good thing that the Scions moved away from this system because there are less fuel vapors, less work on fuel pump, longer filter life, ect? What is the advantage from having a fuel return system back to the tank (besides injector cleaner mixing faster)?

With a return fuel system, you can add an external adjustable fuel regulator. However, it doesnt benefit the scions because you cant get past the factory in tank regulator to up the pressure. I have done it and to me it was a waste.

It is an aftermarket one. TRD just bought the rights to it. I doubt anyone else would make one but there is the phantom grip but it's not a true LSD.

I just had the LSD installed at my dealership... took them 3 days and they had damaged some parts during installation so I was waiting for replacements... After driving the xB for 500 miles or so and now having the LSD, it's definitely a different feel as far as handling and getting off the line.
