Default HELP! Engine is running too rich!

Hey guys, so here's my problem..

I have the Descendant Racing Turbo kit...had it for awhile now and it's been performing great!

Just recently, my car has been throwing codes, namely P0101 (Mass air flow sensor circuit/performance) and P0172 (engine too rich).

I've cleared it with an OBDII tool many times, but it ALWAYS comes back. I do notice that when my boost gauge reads "0" when I accelerate, prior to boost my AFR gauge reads "10.0" and remains there until I release my foot.

Moreover, I do get a slight "hiccup" here and there when I shift gears...

Can anyone suggest solutions?

Thanks in advance!

310-533-8900.

My suggestion would be to call them.

Of course! I plan to! Just figured that I would post on here to see if anyone else had the same problem, and if there's a quick/easy fix that I can do before I bring it into Torrance.

I'm a teacher, and the school year is in full swing, so it's kinda hard to bring it to the shop and leave it. (I work in Riverside, CA).

So I was just trying to describe the problem the best I could, and seeing if there's an easy fix for it. =)

Oh no! Well happy teachings!

As far as I can think, i'd assume it's your tune. Who did the install and tune?

World Racing in Torrance did the install, and Shawn Church's Dyno applied my tune. Up until right now, the car was running awesome!! I guess, if you think it's the tune, my question would be, "do applied tunes go bad after awhile? Or does the AEM F/IC computer make it own adjustments therefore changing the tune?"

If you have unhooked the battery, I think the FIC gets swiped. I could be wrong, though. If you've unhooked the battery recently, that may have something to do with it. Otherwise, I'm not sure. Maybe even a fuel filter or something to that effect.

Disconnecting the battery has no affect on the FIC's stored tune and the FIC tune doesn't change by itself. It sounds like your primary O2 sensor is fouled. You can try cleaning it with gas, or inj cleaner. You may as well order a new one now since they don't last as long when boosted. That way you'll have it in case cleaning the old one doesn't help or as a spare. You can get one on-line for $125 shipped but locally they cost $150+. Try not to drive much until you get this fixed. It may be running rich enough to wash the oil off the cylinder walls causing wear and is also contaminating your oil and fouling your plugs.

You should call WR and Shawn ASAP to get their opinions.
