Default ok i think i got the latest on the trd supercharger..

for those interested i emailed a guy on here named jeff and he was kind enough to give me the scoop on the s/c for the xb2.

The xB2 part number was available for viewing, then Toyota added a "D" code, which means it was discontinued. After speaking to TRD, I was told it would be coming out this november (last month), and it obviously did not. TRD's top guys came in for a meeting last week and said it's still in the works. They are debating if it's worth having it CARB approved (smog legal) and selling it. Since it's being based off the tC's sales (no too many have sold), they believe it may be a loss and may not pursue it. It still haven't been finalized as a work-in-process or if it is officially dead.

im gunna ____ed if this thing doesn't hit production! because i really do not wanna go turbo..i had a greddy kit on my tC and it was nothing but problems costing a ____ load of time and money...a friend of mine has the s/c on his tc and though it doesnt put out as much power it's still fun to work with and the ____s covered. ive gotta get my ____ alil faster than 158hp! sorry for the long ___ post

dammit, tell them it was because the supercharger kits for the tc were priced way too high, and they were extremely problematic for a trd part due to bad seals, beaings and bracket problems, but know they have figured all those out and hopefully won't make the same mistake again since they are using the same engine and the same supercharger, just now it is in a different chasis.

all the R&D should pretty much be done, now it is just a matter of getting a good fit.

Makes me wonder if they'll release one for the Corolla XRS...

If it costs what it does for the tC when its released then I'll seriously consider getting one but if its going to start out at $3k+ then forget about it!

Actually really not a big loss. For the price you can probably get a decent turbo kit and make way more power.

The TRD xB supercharger kit for the 2008 is a go for sure. It will be CARB legal at release. The HP output will be the same as for the TC. Will work on the automatic and the stick.

The kit should be available mid-end of Feb. 2008. This is a for sure deal from a guaranteed source.

If he is, he's got to know that it would be like the boy who cried wolf, an nobody would ever listen to him again.
I'm hoping his source is legit, for his sake, even though I have no intention of spending $3,000 on a supercharger
(at least not until my box is out of warranty).
I'd assume that people like eight08customs get the most up-to-date info, but we'll see...

Dear TRD,

I got 0-60 but I was a car length behind a newer caddy. I need that supercharger so that I can make that old man frustrated that he spent $12,000+ more than me and can't beat my ___.

I have conflicting info from a scion dealer that I visited yesterday. I asked the dealer when the supercharger will be released. The sales manager told me that the kit will definitely be release, but he didn't get a date.

We chatted some more, and then afterwards he got on the phone and was able to find out that the earliest release date will be sept 08 maybe even later.

So I am not sure whats going on anymore.

i don't know...looking at the engine bay for the xb2, and the corolla/matrix xrs, it looks like stuffing the supercharger in there is kinda tricky.
